Hi all,

New to the forum. I live in Grahamsville, NY, about 15 miles drom Honk Falls. My wife and daughter found Honk Falls knife in an antique mall in Ohio.
The knife is glad to be back home

Hi I see this thread is a bit dated but as I am new I will share a pic of the Honk Falls knife I do have. Wondering if James ever did publish his collector’s guide?

I throughly enjoy seeing these old knives. Just look at the craftsmanship and history they exude. Keep them vominh

Great knife! Classic honk falls jigged bone. Thanks for posting. I have made a lot of progress on my historical guide project. I have just about everything I need to make this project something worthwhile. Hoping to have it ready for this summer. Should be able to list about 50 different Honk Falls patterns as well as some interesting connections to Case,ulster,Sears,Winchester and others. Thanks again.

Some Honk Falls info. The add is from “The Hardware Reveiw”
Volume 29 August 1922.

To me these are all Dog leg patterns. I think the smaller one is called a peanut? The middle size not sure?? The top knife is the only pattern illustrated in the Napanoch catalog as a Warren Cliff Pattern which is not really my understanding of a Warren Cliff. Is this a term or pattern that has evolved? Like to be accurate in description between patterns. Any input appreciated.

Has anyone heard of a knife pattern being called “Vaquero”. It’s shown here in the Keen Kutter catalog. Simmons made a few warncliff patterns on serpentine 3 1/2 frame. I’m thinking the Honk Falls pattern was made from parts acquired at the Walden auction in 1928. There a a lengthy article in the 1922 Hardware review regarding the winchester simmons merger. Interestingly it mentions how simmons maintained control of the Walden knife co.

This one found it's way to me in a knife trade at a knife show. It's a bit rough, back handle has a few cracks a chip out at center pin. The blade has been used and sharpened plenty. But it's still identifiable as a Honk Falls, and snaps very strong. Single blade large coke bottle, 5 5/16 inch closed, and dark wood handles (probably rosewood?).
