Took the plunge on one of these myself. Looks nearly identical to the GEC 85 pattern which is a great user. If it’s all I hope it to be I expect there’ll be a safe queen stag in my future as well.
I'm happy with both of mine, hope you like your as well. There are 4 more handle varieties in the works still to come. The jig bone is coming out next.

Got a chance to take photos of my new Phoenix Jack in mammoth ivory handles. This is by far the best looking mammoth knife I own!

Yeah, I started out as a Tuna collector and fan. I met and talked with Ryan at shows, and over time we became friends. And now I help him with his website and advertising and marketing, and photos of the knives, ect.

With the quantity & quality of TV knives Rookie shows here on AAPK as well as his advance knowledge of new releases, prototypes, etc., I figured there had to be some kind of "inside connection" to the source. Which, although I admit to being somewhat envious of, I do think is pretty cool for Rookie. 8)

But I really don't think that would work too well for me personally because if I had that kind of relationship with a manufacturer of high-quality knives like Tuna Valley, I'm fairly certain The Monkey on my back could not control himself and I would most likely end up bankrupt, divorced and homeless (but with an amazing pile of really nice knives! )

Now, that being said...I REALLY want one of those Stag Sheepsfoot Barlows that Rookie said were only in the prototype stage at this point. So, I'm hoping that he will alert us if/when they actually go into production and when they're ready to be released. ::pray:: ::fc::

I limit my collecting to Tuna Valley knives and Tuna Valley prototypes (1 of each). Like you said, it's hard to control myself. But so far I stick to TV and let all the Napanoch, Excelsior, etc. go out to the other collectors who love them.

1 thing I really like about DFKB is that Ryan is interested in making knives that people want. He reads what people say they like/don't like. There are quite a few prototypes that he takes to shows to see how collectors react to them. So far I've heard nothing but good comments about that barlow with the lambsfoot blade.

Here is a nice group shot I took of the 2016 teardrop pattern. I'll have this group, along with some of my other Tuna Valley knives on display at the Massillon, Ohio knife show this coming weekend (May 14-15, 2022). If you are at the show be sure to stop by and say hello!

I wish I could attend that show if only to look at and drool over all the gorgeous cutlery. Unfortunately, it would almost surely leave me destitute, deep in debt, divorced and homeless were I able to attend in person. Living on an island in the middle of the ocean is both a blessing and a curse. ::dang::

Always enjoy seeing the knives on AAPK though; it's much safer for someone like me (i.e., the monkey on my back) who loves looking at beautiful, high-quality cutlery. ::nod::

Thanks QT. If the day comes that you hop a ship and attend a knife show in the lower 48, I hope to be there and meet you in person!

I've been bad about taking photos of my newer Tuna knives. There are quite a few I haven't shown here yet. I'll try to get caught up over the next few months. Here are a few new ones.

-Phoenix Jack in Buffalo Horn with 154CM steel, released in May 2022
-Old Man Norman in Burnt Stag, released in July 2022

This one was a 3 piece prototype run SFO, as the proposed 2022 group knife for Slipjoint Exchange Facebook group.
