The Remington catalog states it's an adjustable box cutter. Not at home so I forget the pattern number. Some have listed it as a clam shucker of all things. Nice example Keith, I have a Morton's salt advertising example.

Box cutter is what I thought it was. I'd love to see the add if you get a chance.

Keith I'm working a 12 hour shift at the hospital and won't be home till 8pm ish tonight. Look towards the back section of the C-30 catalog and you will see a copy of the add there with a description of the pattern. ::tu::

I like that. Whoever the guy in charge of advertising in the 30's for Remington was a busy feller

They were doing what they could to stay solvent in a bad economy called the Depression. I wrote about this in part in an article for Knife World July 2015. ::nod::

I may have posted this before but it is a nice easy open knife and I am trying to learn how to post pictures. Don't recall pattern number.

Your bulldog HTT is great and correct. Some had tang stamps and some did not. I have an example of both. Nice knife and worth around $550. Take care, John Davis

John, I think you are responding to a post I made a while back about my HTT Bulldog. If so, thank you! I sent you a Private Message a few months ago. You can check it by clicking on the private messages link near the top right corner of the screen.

I would enjoy seeing pictures of you Bulldogs if you don't mind posting them.

Obviously I like the original 1123. But tell me more about the knife you made. Beautiful handles. Did you make everything? Or did you use a Remington frame. Very nice. Thanks for showing us.

I used the original as a pattern to get the measurements for the custom. It has all nickel silver parts except the blades and backsprings that are made from 154CM stainless steel. I make all the parts with bandsaw, drill press, and belt sanders starting with sheet and bar stock. I do the heat treating myself.

Not very many. Just a hobby. Maybe 6-8 a year with 10-12 if I feel energetic! Mostly fixed blade hunters with a few slip joint folders thrown in.
