Thanks, QS. That background photo is about six years old. One of my favorite places. I don't guess I'll ever be able to make it back there but I still dream about it.

Tsar Bomba, you’re toting a couple of HOKs today. Who made the Purina knife? I’ve got one some where around here.
These checker board handles always remind me of a time more than 65 years ago when Purina made feed deliveries to my uncles place outside of old Orlando. Good memories!

Thanks WW. That is an “I bought a box of knives and had no idea it was in the bottom” find.

I dont rotate knives very often, last knife I carried was for at least 6 months. I think I'll like carrying this one for a while.

I can see why. It's a beauty!

Doing cuticles and cleaning fingernails needs a dedicated knife. I had a nice customized 1-1/2" Buck I carried for 11 years before it disappeared. Replacing it was tough. The Spiderco just had the wrong angle at the tip.
A Gerber of the same dimensions as the Buck did not match my fingertips smoothly.
The Gerber Occulus was pretty good but bulky and awkward in the hand. Victorinox SD to the rescue. Twice I have carried a Victorinox SD, both times the plastic scales cracked within two years. Plus it felt clumsy with the lightweight plastic almost flexing with normal use. I found the model pictured at Amazon. Quite a bit thinner than the plastic models and almost twice the the weight. A very solid feel and no sharp corners to snag on clothing or wear holes in pockets.
A bit overpriced at $166.00 when the plastic scaled version is $16.00.
No buyer's remorse, I will do it again if necessary, a really fine knife for the purpose.

I am carrying this today. It is truly a favorite and a dandy.

Today this will keep company with my constant carry Buck. This Shrade single blade Trapper has great walk and talk...an extra loud snap.

Here are my EDC's. I use these for work, sometimes I have a case trapper, Ganzo Fire-Brid and an Old Timer 7OT. And a Leatherman is always on me or nearby. These will be with me every day! Here is what I have today...

Wenger "Boy Scout" Type
CRKT Edge.

I cut a lot of boxes up and rope and "weed wacker" line. After 5 PM I open a lot of beer bottles, so the Leatherman is on overtime duty then.

I'm amazed at the condition of that old Wenger Soldier M1908. I bought one of the few you'll see in the US. Mine's a 1942 Elsener (Victorinox), but the blade is close to an inch short and is really sharpened down. They are very well made, and built like tanks. Spring strength is so strong, the first time I opened the screwdriver (without cleaning or oiling), it ripped out my left thumbnail.

What's the date on the other side of the blade? If not ,it's probably civilian.
