All About Pocket Knives

bighomer, I'll 2nd that motion! Them little ones are not much use except to look at, like the little Camillus 21 I got the other day. I know we may, not probably won't get a unanimous vote on this matter but a knife needs to be big enough to do some work when it's called on!

I'm going to take another tack on the size issue. Soon after I got out of the service, I bought a Schrade 108OT, 2 3/4" closed. I carried it for several years and still have it. It did everything I needed a knife for so I'm coming down on the side that the small knives are not completely useless. In fact, it's been my experience that as an EDC and used for everyday tasks, they are very useful.

Caveat -- No, I never chopped down trees, cut up firewood, butchered game nor cleaned fish with it. So I cannot speak to use on that front.

Not arguing with your choice. Just taking your bias to task. Two sides to that coin you mentioned.

I have heard 'fear the man who only has one gun" the idea being that he probably knows how to use it. I suppose the same holds true for knives. You can make do with what you have.

I am glad that there is plenty of variety, as some times I want a bigger knife, sometimes a smaller one, sometimes a trapper, sometimes a stockman, and sometimes....
Well, you get the idea!
Heck, I even have a couple tactical knives that I use on occasion, (when I want one to use and I don't care that they are as ugly as homemade sin!)

Received two earlier this week- a Camillus 67 and a Remington R1823 I think.
Both have nice, snappy blades with very little wear, but I hadn't noticed until I took these pics that the Remington has some filler for missing bone.
I've got to learn to examine more carefully before purchasing!

Minor details, Lan! Those are good lookin’ knives!

Sweet knife! Also I am a big Zippo fan ...and I am always a fan of cougars...

The mail man dropped off three today, an unmarked sodbuster, a Schrade 788 "Petite Gentleman's knife" and another Geo. Schrade Hunting & Fishing Knife that is in great shape to be at least 75 years old. Treefarmer

Thank you TOPDOG! Appreciate the feed back! I got interested in Zippos about the same time I got interested in pocket knives which is the same time frame as I joined the AAPK. When I figured out that Zippo owned Case, I was caught, hook, line & sinker! Anyways, this Zippo is from Shepherd Hills. They have some nice ones. I also have the Zippo with the Wild Turkey on it but it is still at my mom's house in MD.

This has been an ulcer causing saga getting this, thought it had been lost in transit but finally got it this morning. I have been searching one of these for over 2 years. And it is a really nice little pocket knife, no gaps, everything sits flush, blade perfectly centred, just a beautiful well made solid knife.
