Thanks, Joe.
I mentioned in my last post that migration is underway here along the coast. This morning I spotted this Broad-winged Hawk over my garden. Most likely a migrant: they are pretty unusual here except on migration.

Also saw this Red-tailed Hawk, and an accipiter, of which I did not get a photo.

Some say "A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush."
I believe, a bird on your lap is much better! ....Ken.

Incredible raptor photos, Koldgold! Do you have Barn Owls down under? I know they have a very wide range, but I was not aware that they ranged that far.
In my part of the world, Chimney Swifts have returned from South America this week. They are just about the hardest bird to photograph. Got this one this eveniing.

Australia has many Owls. However, I would thing the British imported some of them here, many years ago.
We also have many birds come from the Northern Hemisphere, in our summer...:
A quick look on Google, shows there is 11 Australian Owls.

Brown Thrashers are handsome birds, bighomer. Long ago, during migrations, the Thrashers would show up in large numbers in Grant Park which is on the lake front in downtown Chicago.

Thrashers are one of my favorite birds. This winter I did not see any under my feeders, but a couple are hanging out in the brush at the back of the garden.
Looks like the birds are gobbling down under your feeder, Homer!
