Thanks, John and John! Sophie is more Siamese. Her mother is jet-black, so I assume she got her coat from her father.

And another one of Bluegrass. He might not look it, but I'm sure he'd be happy I carry a knife, as I used it to open a bag of cat food earlier today.

Angel the cat. She sits under that bird feeder staring up at it for hours. Hope is powerful!

Sophie was not at all happy that she had to move immediately after this photo was taken.

This is another picture of Wildfire, and I just can't seem to get her to cooperate, but if you look very closely you can see her right ear has been clipped. They did that when she was desexed it is a universal sign that she is feral and not fertile. If she is caught in a live trap or surrendered to an animal shelter she is to be returned to the area where she was caught. I thought some of you might find that interesting and want to explain to your kids. I also found a clear picture of a cat with a clipped ear I'll include.

Here is an updated picture of our new puppy Sophie. We got her in January last year so she's about 13 months old now. She weighed 12 pounds last time she was to the veterinarian, a couple months ago. She may have gained a pound since then. She's a purebred Lhasa Apso.
Our other dog is Zoe, a Havanese poodle mix. She is a very smart dog but absolutely detest riding in a car. Sophie on the other hand loves to go for a ride. Zoe is about 4 years old now. The two of them have a good time together although Sophie thinks she's the boss in spite of being about half the weight of Zoe.

Dale, Sophie and Zoe are both off-the-charts cute. Sophie's stance indicates her orientation toward natural leadership. At least that is my impression.

I agree. Sophie (great name, by the way), Zoe, and Wildfire are very cute!

Very nice pair Dale. My brother has a havanese & the family loves him (charley). He has a heart on his side. Thought you might want to see him.

Charlie is quite a handsome fellow! That heart on his side is quite something! Zoe is the only Havanese mix that I have known personally and she has a lot of poodle intelligence from the mix. Judging from Zoe and what I have heard from others who have Havanese dogs, they are a very loving breed. My niece and her husband have a Havanese and he is great with their two little ones!
Zoe is very eager to please but can be a bit neurotic. She gets upset if things are off schedule, like food and bedtime. She lets me know when it's time to go to bed, there is an entire ritual involved. First we have to go outside so she can say good night to George, the cat, then she waters the lawn and comes back inside and goes to the door of the computer room and waits. I come along and we go in to the computer room along with Sophie and they wait for their treat. After the treat they will take a nap if I'm going to be on the computer for a while. If Alyson is having a bad night after chemo, they want to go to the bedroom where she is. Both Zoe and Sophie are very intuitive to when Alyson is in a lot of pain or not feeling well. They will snuggle up to her and sleep there for most of the night.

A fellow I knew said, "Dog is God spelled backwards, unconditional love!"
I tend to agree with him, I think dogs are a gift from God!

Aw, that’s great. I bet that makes Alyson feel some better. You are right they are very loving and a great breed for sure!

Dan, Fine photos. Beautiful cat. My first thought is that she is a Siamese but then I thought I remembered they have blue eyes. Whatever she is a real looker.

Goosey, Loosie a pair of American buff geese & Daffy duck, an Indian Runner. Old Goosey is about 10 years old now, still pretty sharp and still doing his "job".
