Some of y'all might remember we have 2 grandsons out east of Atlanta and I have been continuing to corrupt them with knives for several years. Some of you have helped me and have been generous beyond the original deals when I explained my intent. So thanks to you have helped me through the years. There are usually several knives I'm looking for, that is to provide a duplicate, one for each up coming birthday. All this to say, some time ago I got a a G. SCHRADE'S Stainless Hunting & Fishing Knife that was in extra fine shape. Well today number 2 arrived, I can't tell it from the first one now that they are together, fine shape! Now the 17th and 16th birthdays are covered from my end. ::ds::
Birthday antiques, one of these came today.

Received a couple in the other day, just now getting around to taking some pics.

First , A Schrade U.S.A. Stainless MM897 Master Mechanic 3-9/16" Stockman. Blades have no wobble, great snap, but does show some use, but are full and not abused. From what I've read, this was produced for True Value Hardware from sometime in the mid 1980's into the '90's.
Schrade MM897_a.JPG
Schrade MM897_b.JPG
Next A Buck 709 Yearling. It has the > date mark for 1987. Blades are tight, great snap, and I don't believe have been used. The bolsters do show some light carry scratches. This one has a blade etch on both sides of the clip blade for Lawson Products, and seems to maybe be a service award for 25 years of service from 1952 to 1987. This competes my Buck 700 series knives.

Two more good ones for the collection, Smitty! Love the Schrade 897 pattern, and love the grind on those Buck blades!

Another nice duo! I know that Master Mechanic is/was a True Value brand. If they still sold Schrades under that name in 1998 (when I briefly worked at a True Value), I'll be kicking myself...

The Rough Rider Bullfrog finally showed up yesterday. I'm not sure what to say about it. It's just "okay". Not bad. Not great.
My camera died this morning so these are cell phone pictures. Maybe that's a sign I should just stop with the knives.

Madmarco wrote: Thu Sep 09, 2021 3:07 pm The mail brought me this cool little auto from Bulgaria today! It's 7 3/4" oal/SS dagger blade, SS bolsters, brass pins, faux wooden cover, coil-spring open/close, safety, and a HUGE pocket-clip that makes up the entire back handle. I removed the clip like I always do, but the knife felt out of proportion in my hand so I put it back on. One of VERY few knives that I left the P.C on. The only marking is "Minsheng" stamped on the front blade, so I'm gonna assume it's Chinese built. Opening was a bit sluggish, but after a drop of Q.R. oil it fires like a cannon! Just a fun little "click therapy" knife! 8)WIN_20210909_10_03_10_Pro.jpgWIN_20210909_10_03_33_Pro.jpgWIN_20210909_10_04_05_Pro.jpg
Nice knives everybody! I dig the Minsheng a lot! I have have one somewhere. I’ll see if I can dig it out of storage.
Hey Randy, thanks! ::handshake:: I would love to see your copy if you can find it! Mark! 8)
I finally found my Minsheng Mark. I bought it about 3years ago from Triple F. OAL is 6 1/2 in.

Even though it's been cleaned I'm super impressed by this one. Full blades and zero blade wobble with near perfect bone. I was surprised at how thin the main blade is, nearly scalpel thin at the tip. Picked it up for a good price based on a couple of mediocre pictures and wasn't expecting it to be in this good condition.
