Loose Arrow, never seen one of those but it's very cool. Interesting plate on the back, stamped bolsters, brass spacer, blade shape, stag, all of it. Cooooooooool.

Picked this up from Bryan Sanders here on AAPK. One BS to another. Thanks Bryan.

Nice pick-ups from all! I've ordered up some celebratory knives, which I won't be opening for a week and a half...

Fished this McGrew black handled one out of the bay recently. More pics in the Camillus 72 clones thread. (Could the handles be bone?) Thanks for looking. ::handshake::

Sure looks like it could be bone (but I've been fooled before)...either way, cool knife and original box with paperwork is always a bonus IMHO. Nice score, Floyd. I'm sure it'll feel right at home in your 72 collection. ::nod::

Even adjusting the image some doesn't reveal the answer. Neither one of mine are bone but then neither one of mine has the same jigging. One has the same shield but different handles. I'm reasonably sure they are Camillus made. I'm leaning towards Delrin but I guess we'll just have to wait until you can get a magnifying glass on it to know for sure. Bone or Delrin, it sure does look goood. ::tu:: Congratulations.

Nice pick-ups from Loose Arrow and Floyd, and some equally nice 72s from Jerry!

I've been slacking on showing a couple of recent Victorinox pick-ups. First is a "Warhawk" Classic SD, a DLT Trading exclusive.
Victorinox Classic SD Warhawk.jpg
Next is a Farmer X, which will be in my pocket soon.
Victorinox Farmer X.jpg
The Farmer X has my initials engraved on the little panel. This will likely be standard procedure if I intend to carry an Alox model and purchase it from a retailer who offers that service.

I got two new ones from TripleF in today's mail. First is a camp knife marked only with "Made in USA." Its can opener got a little vinegar treatment, as will the other bits.
Unmarked Camp Knife.jpg
I also got this 1974 Case 12031L from TripleF. I'm going to get some tung oil or similar before I give it a good cleaning. Ruining those wood covers would be a shame.
Case 12031L.jpg
This ruler was also in the package. I didn't have one that was graduated in 64ths of an inch, so it is an excellent addition to the ruler assortment.

Thank you very much, TripleF!

All my knife stuff is in the room where my currently positive Covid grandson is staying. So a few more days until I can get to my stuff to verify. I will let you know.

Klein Tools 44004 Hawkbill. I was in the market for a mid-sized hawkbill that was not Chinese-made, affordable, plain-edge, a lockback or midlock, and of decent steel.

The Klein was 3.5" closed, just big enough to be useful; made in Japan, plain-edge, a midlock, and hollow ground AUS-8. Only $25-30 most places. Thus, all the boxes were checked. I normally don't bother with Amazon unless I need something in a hurry that I can't find in a local store. They had it as a "Warehouse Deal" for $20 which usually means return or damaged packaging. This was the latter. The front of the blister was badly scuffed, and had a hole in it. Knife was new and perfect. I kept hearing people complaining about a "thin blade". It's a little bit over 1/8 thick, which is not thin at all. The reasonable thickness and hollow grind make this knife an incredibly good slicer. Today, it's already made quick work of cardboard and weed eater string; while being sharp enough to be able to sharpen the ends of the string.

Even better, I've done some research, and found evidence that seems to suggest Klein contracted Moki to produce these knives. The Moki MK-K007 is IDENTICAL, except for being marked Moki and red. I am surprised at how they sell for so little, given most Moki are $70 or so at the cheapest, and Spyderco's cheapest Seki knife is the $40 Ladybug. And, Spyderco's closest model, the Dragonfly Salt is double the cost of this knife.

Nice group! The camp knife, I think, is a Kingston. It resembles the early Demo Knives, except it is not marked "US Marine Corps" or "US".

I have a very old Lufkin folding 12-inch caliper rule (wood/brass) that goes up to 32nds, but nothing that good. I'm going with a Starrett.

Nice one!

Camillus mostly made the 72 later than the Schrade or Western takes on the pattern. However, Bear, after Camillus went under made their own 72 (as the BSA 1047 Scout Whittler), possibly using Camillus tooling. I don't think Schrade ever made knives for McGrew. I know Camillus did; and maybe Bear also; but the latter was Mt. Ida I think (another small-time dealer who seemed to have a lot of knives tang stamped with their logo).

I am leaning towards Camillus as well.

I'll go with that. Thanks for the info!

Starrett does make the best measuring tools around. And you did good with that hawkbill; it looks ready to work!

I picked up this little Sharp today at a yard sale for $5.
Nothing special, and has been used a lot, but I like these knives. They are well made.

I also fished this Rough Ryder Elephant Toenail out of the 'Bay. Nothing special there, but I have long wanted an Elephant Toenail knife, and it was inexpensive.
It smells strongly of cigarettes, but a little cleaning should help with that.
