Knice DOGG!!!! It's tough to keep the kids from playing on their IPADS.....but I do what I can to provide access to the old school ways!

I spent a couple hours at my brother in-laws today cutting and stacking wood.
I stacked the 10" logs (see below) into a wood-drying pile.
Then a cut myself with a hatchet as I was de-branching a branch.....the cut wasn't big, just a little deeper than I'd like...

Scott, watch that for infection my friend. I've had friends end up in the hospital with pretty minor cuts. ___Dave

If you can't fix it with Duct tape, you have an electrical problem.

Yeah, DOGG....I saw this black line ......and then saw it gathering and thought HOLY CRAP....that's blood shooting from me!!! I applied immediate pressure with my handy leather glove......and well, we're still using duck tape tonight, it's just camo duck tape!

Damn Scott, that's tough (all the way around). In the woods, steady rain, not a tree gobble (so far). A lone hen just walked in front of my blind feeding in the rain. I think I just heard my hunting partner shoot in the distance. OH

Duct tape is actually not a bad choice for closing wounds. The glue on "real" duct tape is made from animal proteins and actually accelerates the healing process. I've used on blisters I've gotten backpacking and literally overnight the blisters are closed. Amazing stuff although because of the animal proteins it needs to go in the bear bag overnight otherwise it may attract unwanted critters.

Yeah Phil, that's what I'm looking for! I know where there are three Tom's hanging out near a creek - going to pay a visit early tomorrow morning and get set up. If I don't get one close enough to shoot I hope to see where they are roosting so I can be back on them Friday morning. OH

Sweet corn and turkeys! Always enjoy this thread, thought I'd give a progress report on the grandsons' shootin' house. Got the 1st coat of paint on the outside and the roof in place. Still a lot to do, bird boards, windows and door, inside black paint, etc... Then we need the world to dry up enough to pull it to the location intended .
Here's how it is shaping up, I believe it'll work! It is 4'X6'X6'6"H, with about a foot of overhang on the roof.

Phil that looks great thus far. One question, will it be elevated or will it sit on the ground ?

It's a ground blind, built for a very thickly surrounded, isolated food plot. It's also easier for an old man to step up one step than 14 feet of the ground like the others .
