I got bombed, sort of. My oldest boy (15) is crazy into trapping and he bought some various Mora knives, even bought one for his younger brother. Well, younger brother and he traded back and forth on one and Jackson wound up with two just alike. So he patinaed the blade, oiled it up, and came into the living room yesterday and gave it to me. Bless him.

So here’s my new Mora.

A great knife made even better. Congrats. You have a new favorite special knife.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. It will definitely hold a special place in the knife pile for sure.

It is quite the reversal though. Normally the boys are going through my knives and dividing them up between themselves. lol.

I'm sure you've all heard of the bomb-sniffing dogs used by TSA at the airports, but it may surprise you to know that I have a bomb-sniffing Gecko in my office.

As soon as I got home from the PO and dropped the incoming packages on my desk, Chief Security Gecko First Class, Gordo, immediately began his routine sniffing protocol searching for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.
Oh-Oh!...What's that over there? Unexpected Package Alert!

The perpetrator's name is revealed: Thomas DeVore, aka, TPK
The bomb's outer shell casing is removed and the defusing process begins... ...multiple levels of disguise must be peeled back carefully... Is this some kind of code hidden in an apparently friendly greeting or is it a booby-trap cleverly designed to make me drop my guard??
I cautiously remove the cryptic note and the "guts" of the bomb are exposed

LOL You might think they would be friends; however, in actuality, The Monkey is a mischievous little sneak who's always trying to order more knives than he's allowed to so I rely on Gordo to keep an eye on him so he doesn't bankrupt me with his proclivity for reckless, devil-may-care spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave (and believe me, he's come pretty close more times than I care to admit ). CSG1C Gordo runs a tight ship from his crow's nest perch atop the monitor...no unauthorized purchases escape his all-seeing eyes.

BTW--One unexpected bonus of the Boker Scout knife you bombed on me (that my wife immediately commandeered as her official car knife) is that now when me & the Missus go somewhere together in her car we finally have a topic of mutual interest to discuss (as opposed to our usual "car conversations" that mainly consist of her doing all the talking while I just nod in agreement and pretend to listen.)
