All About Pocket Knives

Blades look full. Nice! I also enjoy cleaning my knives plus taking good pics of them so I can post them here and easily sell them if necessary.

I have champagne tastes and a beer budget when it comes to Schrade collecting. When I can't afford to add any new treasures to my hoard fawning over the ones I already have scratches the itch nicely.

Same here. I’m on a tight budget and really don’t add knives very often.
I prefer to polish and use the few I already have.

Yes, and collecting pocket knives has pretty well cleaned me up (or out).

Benton629, I have several of those Old Timer Muskrats. You should enjoy using that one.
There is a very well worn 77 that stays, blade open, in our kitchen window above the sink. I have used it for years to do trimming on venison, both in processing and in preparation to cook. It is just a special go to knife for a specialized job of removing tiny bits of fat or silver skin that have been overlooked that need removing.

This one came from my Uncle Barry's Collection. He is deceased now, however, he was in charge of the Custom Knife and Quality Control sections at Schrade. His older brother Harold worked in the Custom Knife Section fir him and his older sister (my Mom) worked fir him in Quality Control. Schrade was truly a family oriented company.

I actually have the 00004 of this knife it does have the bolsters are engraved also all 3 blades are engraved as well

I bought an SP-2 Raider from a member here pretty cheaply. I find the handles of the Schrade USA Lightweight series to be the slimmest and most comfortable Zytel-handle lockbacks that I've tried--and pretty much, it's been a big amount of the knvies I've bought since COVID started to be an issue in late March. These tend to be really inexpensive, even brand new in the box. While I mostly collect Old Timers and Uncle Henry in terms of newer USA-made Schrade, I think I'll start a subcollection of the lightweight knives; as well as having SP-1 through SP-7 versions as users, in both PE and SE. So far, I'm only aware of an orange SP3 for the Tennesee Vols. (SMKW SFO?). Are there any other odd colors I should look out for?

This little 1990 Lightwight is a Schrade Give-Away, Schrade gave knives to some of the Dealers.

An SP3 came in the 2004 Schrade Display, it was called an SH3DU...Ken

Picked up this Schrade two blade serpentine jack. It has a Schrade Walden shield, with a Schrade N.Y. U.S.A. tang stamp. Great walk and talk on both blades and no cracks or looseness on handles. Gonna make a good edc rotation. I also picked up this little 180T liner lock. Don't know why, but I just like the liner locks that were produced by Schrade.

I like muskrats, anyway, but the bone (3 different color variants) on those Tradesmen sets is really nice. Good score!

Here are two that I just got at a gun show, a 127UH and a 125OT both unused and in their box. Terry

Picked this one up the other day to add to my EDC, A OT 1940T Schrade likes to call a gunstock. I liked the way the delrin looked on this one. To me a better look than the new ones with the pinkish tints. Has tight blades with good snap and liner lock locks tight. A minimum of cleaning was needed.

Hello Ken, very nice. I had one several years ago I think around 2004, and enjoyed how it felt in the hand. I lost it out cutting wood. Never got around to replacing it because of travels with my job. Just now got around to replacing it.

Nice Old Timer.
The 94OT is my favorite along with your 194OT.
I prefer the old Delrin look as well.
The new “schrades” cannot equal Schrade USA Old Timers.

Schrade was still selling the 95 OT and intending to sell the 194 OT, with a wooden handle in 2004.

The Son-of a gun, would be a good user.

Seller accepted my offer on a liitle "108DU Gentleman's Pocket Knife by DU Canada". I like the handles and Canadian-content etch.

Nice. Keep your eye peeled for the DU Canada wooden handled Schrade folding hunter. And, of course, any of the Calgary Stampede knives. I gave a stag CS lockback (LB-7 type) to a fellow who did not care anything about it. Oh well.

I am really getting into ISC/Ellenville era Schrades that have handles other than plastic. Looks like I'm gonna have to look out for that one!
