I put this picture in the General Discussion forum last week, but it belongs here (maybe even more so); a brass bolstered Buck 303 version with wood handles from late last year. OH

Dogg, you are good luck man! I came across this Buck 111 yesterday in a small town pawn shop - it was sitting on the shelf in the original box with the Buck papers and the tooled leather sheath - I remembered your comment about it taking you decades to find one. I figured I better get one while it was in front of me, so I grabbed it up! Thanks, OH

Dogg, thanks for the info on the steel - from what I have found so far this knife was made circa 1980. I like the tooled leather sheath too (reminds me of the stuff we made for leather working merit badge at Boy Scout camp - just a lot better done). I wouldn't have known this was a hard knife to find if I hadn't read your earlier post - Thanks again! OH

OH,
Thank you, too!
I hadn't known about that knife, myself. What a find!
Nice sheath, as well.

thanx Bill, every dog has his day ::handshake:: OH what I mean by hard to find is regional,Like in Maine it's hard to find certain knives.Like the Buck 110 made Buck knives popular but not till the 70's, in my state it's hard to find pre 110 Buck anything ::uc:: ya Don't see old Case knives up here nor GEC ::shrug:: what is easy to find is old Schrades,Camillus, Colonials and Imperials.Imported Bokers are more popular than USA makes.West coast knives were not popular at all I got this info from my Grandpa and his lumbermen buddies first hand. The most popular hunting knives were the old PSK and kaBars ::nod::

Very interesting Tim. I don't believe I've ever seen one like that. Looks very heavy duty and I really like the sheath.

Dimitri -- A Buck 112. A wild new avatar. Where's this all heading? Are you preparing yourself to explore the (gasp) exotic world of tacticals? Do you need a Kershaw Leek to help you ease into it?

Pretty big change for you too Jerry - with your sharp new avatar - might have to try out another one myself with all this change going on around here. OH

Yeah, Colonel. Spring needs to get sprung here real quick like. These spring training games are just not cuttin' it for me. I need to feel that warm sun on my lumpy old hide. My best friend from the Corps sent an email last week to let me know he has sold his house and come April 25th will be moving to The Villages down in Florida. He only lives an hour and a half from me and even though we only got together once or twice a year, I'm sure going to miss his wrinkly old rear.

That avatar is not really my style. I was just messin' with Dimitri but I may try out a few different ones over the next couple of weeks, just for something to do.
