not sure if I showed this in another thread, like that rough black thread or here, but I have not seen a swell center IKCO like this in my search
here it is short and sweet. I believe the IKCO in parallelogram (box) is older than IKCO in diamond box

I found this 3 3/8" handle with very worn blades, for just a few
bucks, with intentions of re-blading it.

I looked and looked for a knife with good full blades on
ebay. Couldn't find anything but those tip bolster knives
which have both springs that are the same width. I needed
one with the wide spring on the main blade and the '32 -'36
stamp.

Well guess what? I found one... in my OWN collection with
very ugly solid black handles. I don't know
how long it had been sitting right under my nose.
The knife is now marked as a re-blade to avoid any confusion
on down the road.

Boy, it really does! Probably bought and stuck in a drawer for all these years.

I've probably posted this one before, c. 1936-1952, unused, uncarried, never sharpened, still had/has cosmoline or dried oil on the blade when I got it, perfect jigged bone handles, steel liners, bolsters and pins.

Joe and Perry, thanks a lot. It's one of the nicest old knives I've got and it came with two other knives in a lot for $12.

Hey!! I already gave you one of my knives!!

Here's the only one I have that is marked IKCO inside the parallelogram. It's not in perfect shape, but it's a nice size for carry. The master blade has good walk and talk and no wobble, but the pen blade wobbles a little. Both take a razor edge easily.

I only have one, and I don't know anything about the IKO knives. But it looks to be made real well.
I think this one was red at one time.

Those shell handle "boys knives" with the IKCo. stamp
showed up sometime in the '50s, knifetime. I have
seen them in red and black and I think Dimitri has one
that is brown. They were all painted rather than having a
celluloid wrap. Most, if not all, came with a chain.
The same stamp is used on the letter openers. It is often
mistaken to be "LKCo."

Goins first lists the IKCo stamp inside a rectangle (parallogram)
to be from c. 1925-1940.

He lists the IKCo. stamp inside a diamond to be c. 1928-1930.

These three stamps need to be added to the Imperial/Hammer Brand
date charts.

Below is one I found sometime last fall. It must have got shuffled
around and stashed inside my Imperial folder! It has the c. 1936-1937 stamp!
It's an Imperial that still has the HAMMER BRAND BLADE ETCH!!!
The handles have been shinned up a little.

I've moved it from the folder I found it in to where it dose'nt get lost
in the shuffle again.

Here's a nice little slender Imperial I bought up I Winsted, Ct. awhile back.
A great pawn shop find for $10. 3 1/4".
It has scales similar to a larger Imperial dog leg jack that I own. It has strong springs.
