Lizard1123 is a sniper who bids huge. He's beat me on some exceptional knives. I've only managed to return the "favor" once. since then, I swear he bids even higher.

Here's another English Jack, at 4 3/8". I just clipped it out of my Empire display, which I am slowly reworking.

Thanks for the thread. There has been a couple of others that I have shown this in but I always enjoy showing one of my favorites. At 4 1/4 " closed it is small by standards. I like it anyway.

Weird wish indeed, wanting to be reincarnated as a harness jack! Anyway, how does the little release work on the side of some of those English Jack's? Are they a lock and release mechanism?

The "hump" on the back is a lock release, Thawk. You push it in to release the blade. It's essentially similar to the back lock that sits in a cutout, but rides higher.

What a great thread full of great knives

First find in a looong time! Picked up this old Continental Cutlery Co NY english jack, a cousin to galvanic1882's Robeson and Terrier. It has an interesting difference from his that I can see (aside from being used ) it has steel bolsters instead of nickel silver.

Since Robeson, which made this one, was located in Rochester I set up the photo with a magazine from another Rochester company from about the same era as the knife.

Nice old Continental, AKC !

I had forgotten about this thread. I guess I can put this one in here too. Despite the the stamp, it doesn't get much more "English" than having horn handles.

Here is my latest English Jack. I love the bone on this Ulster and the Washington bolsters are a favorite of mine. I was glad to resurrect this thread with this knife.

As I was putting the Ulster away I forgot that I picked this one up awhile ago and never posted it. Another English Jack Humpback. The mark is ELECTRIC CUT CO NEWARK NJ. Check out the bone on this one!!!

This one and the Ulster are 4 1/2" closed.

And I traded for it at this past April's show in Oregon; my favorite knife show in this sector of the Solar system!!
