Sambar Stag has always been my favorite scale/handle material, and the gnarlier the better! Smooth stag has no character to me. I love popcorn highlights and ruts, but I also prefer thinner than thicker scales/handles, and sometimes it hard to get thinner gnarly stag. Also, like everyone, I like it when each side matches fairly well. That’s definitely a lot to ask sometimes. Here is two displays that have most of my collection in them. The top one is mostly stag made by Great Eastern Cutlery. The second one is mostly stag made by Case.
