This is an old cedar cigar box that he kept his jewelry in. He had enough money to buy a nice jewelry box, but this was his. I even gave him one
for Christmas, but he never used it. When he passed away in 2010, I brought it home and put it in a closet as it was.

The box was in terrible shape, it had many cracks that he held together with staples, it was missing a drawer divider, and had a distinct lean to
the right. I decided that he would like it if I restored it and made it useful again. So after a total disassembly, cleaning and reassembly, it has a
new lease on life. I left many of the bumps and bruises, but it is now held together with glue instead of staples. I made a new drawer divider, and
it now holds some of my "jewelry".

My Pop sits atop it in his baseball uniform from WWII. I think he would be glad it still survives...
