All About Pocket Knives

Buck 305 and Colt Diamondback 38 special. Both belonged to my mother-in-law.

Buck 110 and Browning Buck Mark Hunter 22LR.
This knife has skinned 2 deer.

Iver Johnson Target 22LR and Buck 110. Gun was my FIL’s. I have skinned 3 hogs with this knife.

Both Stevens tip-up .22 pistols from my FIL. Buck 112 and 422.

Old S&W 38 tip-up revolver and Buck 112. Revolver was my FIL’s. If you look at the top of my knife, you’ll see a little chunk out of it. Myself and 2 others went squirrel hunting in Southeastern Oklahoma in the Ouchita National Forest, close to where I’m from. I ask if the guys had their rifles sighted in because we drove up from FTW, Tx. So we drove to a friends cabin near where we hunted, to check their guns. When one of them pulled his rifle out of the case, it was missing the scope adjustment caps. I questioned him and he had no answer. I found a piece of plywood and got a makeshift target out of my truck. I used my knife to hold the target to the wood about a foot high on the target. His first shot made my knife disappear. We went down to look for it and found it behind the wood. His shot was right inline vertically hitting my knife. I adjusted the scope and got it corrected. I used that same knife to skin a deer a month later.

Ain't it amazing what we find on AAPK. Had a few minutes this afternoon, scrolling the forum and found this thread. Bucks and guns, how did I miss this? I want to play! The High Standard model GB is the first handgun I remember shooting. It belonged to my uncle Lon, always referred to as Unkie. He allowed me to fire the .22 when I was probably 6 years old, that was over 70 years ago. I inherited it in August of 1980.
The Buck 110 was gift to me when I left the Orange County Florida Water Pollution Control Agency. We left there in December of '73 for a better life far from the Mouse.
I shoot the old GB now and then and have skinned a Buck or two with the 110.

I got my first Buck knife in 1969 for Christmas. A Buck 102 Woodsman. I gave that one to my son. I’ll always have a few buck knives. One of my favorites the Buck 110 folding Hunter. Field dressed my first deer with one. Here’s a 110 with an original 1947 Red Ryder.
