Very nice! The color of the cherry and the style definitely have a Shaker look going on. I like the housing dados and tenons for shelf adjustment. I’ve been meaning to do one much the same as yours, but haven’t got all my “around to its” inline yet. I’ve got a decent board of red oak sitting around the shop…but I much prefer the look of your cherry.

If you don’t mind, what are the dimensions of your cabinet?

It's 24 x 17 x 2 3/8" overall. Shelves are 1" wide. Door frame is 2" x 3/4". Back is Masonite laminated with cherry veneer. Wall mount is a french cleat. By all means, use what ever wood you like, but I'm not a fan of oak for fine furniture!

Thank you sir. Cherry or mahogany are more traditional for sure. White oak and walnut were real common in this area, as were cherry and poplar shellacked to resemble cherry. I’m with you a the red oak, it ain’t near as nice in fine furniture.
