I'm reading everyone's input carefully & really appreciate the comments. It's really been helpful.

Like stated above, I think I'll try to put a chat-like program on the server that members can play around with within a couple weeks & go from there.

I'll happily check it out and provide feedback!

I was one of the "regulars" in the chat room back in the day. I loved it. I became good friends with several AAPK members through that venue and most of those friendships remain to this day. I remember my wife teasing me because I'd sit here at my desk laughing my head off several evenings each week. It was a ton of fun for me. I really liked the live auctions too. I don't recall ever witnessing any serious conflict between participants but any time there are two or more people involved there's potential for some conflict. What Ken witnessed certainly would have been the exception rather than the rule.

Obviously I'd be all for resurrecting the chat function.

A little late to this party...nevertheless, I've enjoyed 'chatrooms' in the past and would be interested to see how one would work on the AAPK platform. Maybe a 'pilot program' for 3-6 months to see how it goes, making changes or fine-tuning as it moves along.

There were a couple of jerks in the old chat room, but they were jerks in the forum also.
Neither one is active on AAPK now.

The ole chat room disappeared shortly after I joined , can't be sure but I think I chatted a time or two just a few words here and there. I enjoyed the back and forth banter so I say go for it.

Well, I guess we're giving it a go. Added a chat feature this morning. Needs some work (especially for phones / tablets). Hopefully it can be evolved into something useful, cool & or fun ...

I remember the old chat room existing but I never used it. I'm really interested in the Auctions part you mentioned, Bryan. That sounds like waaaaaaaaaay more fun than eBay.

Would there be a way that the auctions are announced ahead of time so we'd know when to check in? Otherwise it's just hit n' miss while browsing.

That's what I'm asking, is there a special day of the week for auctions, or just as they come up they'll be listed?

I don't have the answers, but I'm ready to bid on something
