Funny you picked today to post. I’ve been waiting for this one and it arrived today. My favorite pattern.

The KA-BAR versions are great users, just a little slimmer than the Case versions. The KA-BARS don’t come up often, but usually sell cheap. The handle scales are a little boring though, also worth pointing out the blades are laid out differently on the KA-BAR
The Rough Riders are pretty nice too, I have the whole set except the one with the acorn shield.
I hadn’t noticed it until your picture but right before I read it in your post I noticed the different blade position of the Kabar and the CASE. VERY INTERESTING!
I knew there had to be more loomfixer fans than just me and Chris around here!

He carried a Case loom fixer.
He would be hired by cotton mill to fix the looms and get them working correctly.
He said it would take about six months to a year to get them working.
Mother says they moved a lot when she was a kid.She's 93 and still going strong!
I love hearing her talk about when she was growing up.

I actually was a loom fixer for a few years, thus my interest in the pattern.
I have no recent pictures available ... I need to remedy that for this thread.
My small collection includes a 74 and a 76, a pre-dot that elvis re handled for me,
and a Kabar that has 'Loomfixer' hot stamped into the scale.
And one of the RR half hawk

On the one hand the KA-BARs seem awkward having nail nicks on both sides of the knife. Well it’s sad to say, but here’s my last one. It’s also the last one I bought before the prices went through the roof. It’s a Xx USA (no dots) red bone.

The only 2 I have, a Case and a Schrade Cut Co, I looked up the etch on the Schrade and the Arnold Hoffman Co supplied fabric dyes to the southern mills.

Some fantastic looking knives and history, you can learn so much at AAPK, there is information here that i had no idea about. I wish i had bought some of the Rough Rider models while i had the chance now. And my oh my, hasn't this thread taken off, on page 4 after one day.

My oldest boy has the red bone RR. It’s a good looking knife.
Both of those are fantastic! But the old Schrade Cutco! Oh my!
