Angel went to the animal clinic again today. Her sugar is still sky high at over 500.
We will continue trying to get that under control with Insulin but untill we do, there will be no operating done on her.
Her next appointment is in two weeks.

Sorry to read this, Tom. I was hoping she turned the corner.

Don't loose faith or hope brother. I will continue to remember and pray for Angel.

Hi Mike,

We are giving her insulin shots twice a day & her next appointment is this coming friday. So I'll let you all know what the vet says on friday. She seems to be feeling better with the insulin than she was feeling before it. Thanks for asking. And thanks to all for praying for her.

Update:

Angel was at the vet's again today. Her sugar level has come down some but it's still not good enough for them to operate on her. They took a blood sample to send off for some further tests. Results on Monday.

Hi Mike,

Same story different day I guess. Sugar is still too high for an OP. More insulin & she has lost 4 or 5 lbs. on weight. Bills adding up to 1000€ and not much improvement but she's still alive & kickin. By the time we get her sugar down I'll need a loan for the operation. Oh well, that's life I guess. Off to work, another day, another dollar.

Not much, but thanks for your concern. She is losing some weight. The only good news is that her sugar is going down sloooooowly. It's been down to 550 a few times.
We (my wife) will continue to raise the insulin slowly as we have been told to do and hope that her sugar continues to come down sloooowly.
The VET said it all has to go very slow or her sugar could drop off too fast and she could go into an under sugar shock or something along those lines. It's a bit tricky to get the right amount of insulin by dogs. My wife has spent hours researching, reading, working on a diet for diabetic dog's & so on. The information is scarce & often contradictive. I think she should write a book about the subject after she's done researching & learning but I don't think she will listen to me. I believe it would sell.

You tell Silvia that I'm very proud of her research and yes she should write a book/manuscript about how to help a dog with an affliction such as Angel has. for Angel and all of your family.
