::doh:: Finally found this thread again!

And after almost 3 years, I finally finished my "Case Family Collection". One Case knife in the birthyear of each family member. May not sound hard to do but doing it from Germany turned it into a challenge. ::nod::

Anyways, I made it. ::tu:: ::super_happy::

A very special thanks goes out to treefarmer, Paladin, 1976redrider & Sanders Knives who helped me come up with 4 of these knives. Couldn't have done it without your help. Thanks Guys! ::handshake::
The 5th knife I found on eBay Germany just this last week. Would have been cooler if they were all from the U.S. but it turned out how it turned out. ::nod::

Took a bunch of pictures of them this morning & here they are.:

And the rest of the pictures.

Thanks for looking friends! ::handshake:: :D

Yes, I am so happy to have this little set completed. Believe it or not, it really means a lot to me. The love of my family, my native country & my hobby together in a set of knives. It's a cool feeling I can't really describe. ::hmm:: A very "special" set of knives in my collection. ::nod:: ::tu::

Glad you were able to complete this project, Tom. And happy to help out. ::handshake:: I hope the recent graduate gets many years of enjoyment out of the Congress. ::nod:: 👍

I told Silvia, if they sell my knives after I die, they must at least keep my family set. ::nod::
She claims she won't sell my knives though. ::shrug::
I'm going to get one or two of my pictures of this set printed out & framed so they will always know which knives are in this set. Just in case. ::nod::

But hopefully, one of my children (or maybe a future grandchild) will develope a deeper interest in my collection at some point in time. Till now, Jazlin is the only one who shows any real interest. She really likes her Congress & a "LONDON SAK" that we bought together the year she went to London with her school class. ::nod:: ::tu::

I'll probably get these two pictures printed & framed. ::hmm:: ::tu::

Edit: ::hmm:: Maybe this third picture as well so they see the number of blades each one has. ::hmm::

That is the coolest idea I've heard in a long time Tom. I was not aware you were doing that but I'm happy you finally completed your task. The only birthday knife I've done was I got my youngest a CASE "Texas Lockhorn" for 1981.

Congrats Tom ::tu::

Thanks David! ::handshake:: Appreciate your comments Buddy! ::nod::
I've been thinking I might add one more knife to this little set. A 1993 for the year we got married. ::hmm::
Gives me a reason to buy another Case knife. ::nod::

I'd really like to complete 3 "Family Sets" so I can give one set to each of my children but the 1972's & 1975's are hard to come by at a price that I can afford. Especially when you live in Germany.I do have a 75 Delrin Barlow that I found on the bay a while back & I just bought a 72 Delrin Pen knife here on the AAPK but it will be a while till I get that one shipped over here. Anyways, the barlow & pen knives are a great start on a second "Family Set". ::nod:: I need to find one more of each year 72 & 75, to have a foundation for a third set as long as my Mom is still around to mail them to me. ::hmm::

Sellers pictures of the 1972 pen knife.:
