My soon to be better half is doing a daily post on her Facebook page with pictures and info from each day we were there. I don't do Facebook.

Here's the pocket knife I chose to accompany me in my travels around Ireland; a Case TB6139 Carhartt. I packed it in my checked bag, inside one of my hiking boots. It made the trip with no issues and has also been to Pensacola and Key West the same way.

A year ago today we kissed the Blarney Stone. An amazing climb up old stone stairs to the top, and quite a view.

From the first picture, this opening is were the Blarney Stone is located. So you have to hang upside down, assisted luckily, to kiss the stone.

I suspect it is only the Irish who can convince visitors to hang upside down and kiss a stone. Now that takes some blarney.

I think the blade is right at 2 1/2", I sharpened it.

Last year, today, we started the day properly by having the best Irish coffees in Ireland at Red Fox Inn, drove the Ring of Kerry and stopped at a sheep farm for a herding dog and sheering show. Those Border Collies are smart and obedient breeds. We also saw old famine village ruins and a Sika deer, finished the day back in Killarney.

A year ago, today, we started the day with a carriage ride and left Killarney for Limerick, stopping for lunch and some thatched roof touring in Adare. The green, green grass of Ireland and so many flowers everywhere. St. John's castle in Limerick is pretty picturesque and impressive.
