Hey Upnorth, thanks for posting pictures ::tu:: . I like the factory file work. You don't see that too often. I will have to learn how to post pics so that I can show mine. It's just a matter of finding the time and software.

I thought I would pass along what I learned when I called Case. They informed me that there is a unique tang stamp used for each series so that they could be dated. I checked mine the are indeed different. I guess at some point someone will publish a list of the different tang stamps allowing us collectors to date the knives.

I don't know much about the Selesct series myself. I got this Trapper this past weekend. It is stag with lined bolsters and a long pull blade.

I finally found some good information on the Case Select knives. I got a list from someone who collects the Select series. He said it came directly from Case.

The list contains all the Select knives produced by Case since the first series in 1998. It includes the knife, the case #, the model #, the # made, and the original retail price.

I put it all together & you can see it here.

If you know of any Select knives NOT on that list let me know.

Lenny, glad to help you with your needs regarding this very serious situation.

I think it would be quite the collection if someone could get all the Selects that have been made. Wow. I'd like a few myself, like the MOP mini copperlock from the first series. Or, if Charlie would ever give me a decent price on that black fileworked mini-copperlock . . .

And thanks for reminding me about the Eugene show, Charlie. I'd like to go. We'll see how busy things are at work, but I think I'm going to try to make it. If I do, we'll have to meet up.
