As an aside - the patent for this knife by Charles Platts in the 1920s was rather amusing - his claim was celluloid wouldn't have the issues with metal shields due to tarnishing and would be easier to engrave or stamp - if he only knew the future and the issues associated with celluloid :) ....

Great knives posted Gents! I personally think tipped bolsters are classy especially on a gentleman knife or Sunday carry. Heck all of them look great no matter the pattern.
