All About Pocket Knives

As was said earlier Wayne...thats a spectacular group of Marble's knives,
Axes, and to have so many of the Original sheaths that go with the knives....
WOW...sure have enjoyed looking at them all ,,,several,,, times already
If you ever ran up on hard times,, you sure have enough in your collection
to pull yourself back up,,,cuttin loose a few !!!
Plus,, they will be on the net here forever for folk's from all over the world to enjoy !!!

Very nice Wayne...love those woodcraft's...

Just picked up a ~7” ideal with a tube sheath. It has the 4-pin stag handle with an aluminum pommel. Haven’t seen an example before, are they rare or is it a rework?
Will post photos tomorrow.

I wouldn't say rare but hard to find especially if it has the original tube sheath.

Sounds like a good knife but there are many leather handled Marble's knives that have been cobbled up in stag in efforts to make a more expensive knife. Please post a picture when you have a chance.

Is it stamped M.S.A. CO. or Marble's? Interested in seeing it.

What does the etch look like?

I can’t seem to get a picture of the etch but it’s their , just the standard tre-foil GS emblem, looks inked on .
Gift card was included so it dates it with no dought 5/7/46

In all my years I never ran up on that box or sheath...and with
the letter dated and all, ya got yourself a real scarce Marble's
package there !!! Thanks for taking time to show it .

Dimitri is the big knife a 7" or 8" blade? The knife and sheath look to be if excellent condition.

ScoutKnives I've never seen the box you have before. The green sheath is a very hard to find item but the box is over the top.

Here is a Marble's GS knife I have with the original sheath. I suspect this might be an earlier version.

Many of the etched fixed blade Official Scout knives I've seen had a very lightly etched blade and even moderate use would obliterate the etch. Fortunately this little Marble's GS knife is an exception to that general rule and the deep etch has survived rather well even though the knife blade has signs of use and some errant sharpening methods.

Wayne, you got that right about the etch...only at a gigantor
Marble's auction I went to 7-9 years ago, there was a pristine one
with the etch present, yours and that one are the only 2 I seen with the etch,
but like you said, what about that box and all, wow

Wayne, I don't know yet. I have them on the way to me, bought both of them as you see them in that one picture. Taking a chance but if the other side of the blades look as good as this side I should do alright, if it is an 8" blade I'll do even better.

Not sure if it’s possible to date this box or what knife it’s for ?
I picked it up at the gator show last year from the estate of Ken Rabidue who was a serious marbles collector .

Very cool box. I've seen similar Christmas boxes for pocket knives from several companies but never a fixed blade box. Given the size it would have been for a Woodcraft, Outers, or Sport knife pattern. I don't think it would be big enough for a 5" blade Ideal or larger knife with the included sheath.

Blade - 5.5 in - clip point
Primary wood handle w/ unknown material spacers
Tube sheath (nice leather)

Very nice and very hard to find MSA EXPERT hunting knife. This is the first model of this knife with the cocobolo wood handle and lignum vitae wood pommel. Looks to be the original sheath also. I think it is interesting that the Expert knives were made in far less quantity than either the Ideal or Woodcraft pattern fixed blades and in spite of their scarcity they do not bring the same money as those two models. Your knife being such an early model would still command a significant price. Thanks for showing!

Not being a true knife collector, much less a Marbles or M S A nich person, my concern now is to get it in the hands of someone who can appreciate it.
Any recomendation other than (or including Ebay) to achieve that? I have absolutely no idea of value, but my main concern it to get it into save and appreciative hands.
