Nice knives shown in this thread. This one is stamped Curtin & Clark St Joseph. 3 1/4" closed. Not sure if it's a Congress Jack or a Doctor's Knife. I found this pattern in the Romance Of Collecting Knives in the Shatt & Morgan Section. I'm guessing they made this for Curtin & Clark?

Sweet knife Barry ... I vote for congress jack - imo blade and handle look too big for a Drs knife .. Either way that knife has alot going for it in all ways - bone, bolsters, blades etc etc ....

Curved though it may be and the cap looks rounded I would say it's a physician knife.

Great knife, Barry! With the rounded front bolster and the slightly rounded cap, I would vote for just calling it a swayback jack.

Never quite figured out this vintage knife collecting. I've seen fairly common knives go quick for a high price and other less common knives just sit. This is one that sat for a few months on EBay so you have probably seen it. I noticed it at first but thought the price was too high and waited until it came down to what I thought was reasonable.

It's a really nice large 3 3/4" bare end lack with great bone and full blades, it has been cleaned but the edges are not rounded off and everything including tang stamps is crisp, maybe the cleaning is why it sat.

Anyone know if Curtin&Clark made their own knives or did they have them made, I've seen that bone before but can't place it, also the font on the tang stamps look familiar, maybe Schatt&Morgan?

Thank you all for commenting, I did find a couple posts from years ago that do state the knives may have been made by Schatt&Morgan or Tidioute Cutlery but there is very little definite information out there.

This is a different pattern.Curtin & Clark gunstock 3 backspring whittler with slanted bolsters.
