I wonder if that fact would make it a bit more desirable? Maybe a Northwoods fanatic would want both versions, and the later ones would be fairly easy to find while yours, being an earlier version without the cutout, could be scarce and more difficult to locate? Interesting...

The Broadway Jacks with & without EO cutout were made very close to the same time. They are more like 2 versions of the same knife than 2 separate runs.

I can't say for sure but it looks like the GEC #38 frame.
Yes, I think that's what it is; and, as another member pointed out to me, it came out right about the same time as the Grinling Whittler. Between that and the fact that it has 1095 steel, I now believe it is most likely a GEC built knife. Strange how different it feels from the other Northwoods, though...no half-stop and the walk & talk just feels more Queen-like than GEC-like.

You boys certainly have some wonderful examples of Northwoods knives.
I just realised that i do have a few knives, but i don't have any Northwoods. They seem to be always too expensive for me.
Keep them coming, as i just love looking at a beautiful knife.
Tony.

The Presidential & the Lincoln Jack, both with mammoth & the Wharncliffe Whittler with ivory. It is knives like these that i would like to see in future Northwoods.

H'mmm, no comments. I guess they are just not pretty enuf.
I will try again. Here is the "Willamette Whittler" which is not a whittler at all. It is a Double End Serpentine Jack, but that is kind of a mouthful.

They are all very beautiful Roland! We are all drooling over them and kicking ourselves in the rear for not jumping in to Northwoods knives early on. ::drool:: ::dang::

I'm trying to ignore that Norfolk, but its not working :)

Yes the Norfolk is a graceful old British pattern. It is admirable of GEC to take on this more complex pattern.
Here is the Esky Zulu. "Zulu" is the name Schrade Cut Co gave to this blade profile that is a bit willow leaf like. This too is a very nice knife.

Or perhaps there are no words that could adequately express the sensations of awe and wonder from gazing upon such exquisite beauty.

Thanks QT. I was just having fun. Sometimes i see a knife posted weeks prior because i had not visited that forum for weeks. There are lots of 'places' to go to here at AAPK, one cannot visit every forum every day.
Here are 2 more, both Broadway Jacks, one is an E.O. and the other a Regular Jack.

Man all these Northwoods knives really get me wanting. ::tu::
All posted here are very nice but my favorites would probably be K.J's yellow handles Indian River and K.J's mammoth ivory Presidential (or) any one of the Bear Lakes. Then again there are the Zulu's, Willamette Whittlers and all the others. :D If there was unlimited availability and I had an unlimited budget I think I'd want them all.

After seeing the way this thread has gone, I think it appropriate to post my second most favorite Northwoods. The one was gifted to me by Greg (gsmith7158). These Northwoods Willamette Whittlers are soooo classy. Thank you Greg.

This thread says favorite knife, so singular, just one knife. Well i tried and each time i selected one, another one would suddenly look 'better'. So sorry, i gave up on just one.
These 3 Northwoods are pretty nice.
