Great knife Barry, yes I read somewhere that Burkinshaw made the Torrey knives. Here is the little brochure price guide I spoke about.

There is a thread here where fellas are trying very hard to get great, fiery pearl handle photographs.
I don't know if you worked at those photos or not but that Pearl is magnificent!

Here’s a gem of a small Torrey Congress at 2 7/16” - Ivory handle and a Sheep Foot master blade - Check out the Torrey tang stamp which unlike others is not surrounded by a rectangular box - perhaps a different stamp for the much smaller blades or as Barry speculated above maybe Burkinshaw made... not my best photos as still need to use my iPhone camera but hopefully soon back to my old setup.... This was a nice surprise from my buddy KJ when I picked up a few knives from him - Thanks KJ

Thanks Bill ... definitely ivory - photos probably don’t do the handles justice - these were easy to identify as there is some grain and definitely no Haversian Canal spots as in bone... (As an aside - With my camera on a tripod and light box setup I routinely shoot on the macro setting with a large F-stop and slow shuttter speed which gives a better depth of field - accordingly compared to an iPhone camera details in the knives are much easier to see with my camera )....

Nice coke-bottle Jack Dimitri .. I actually quite like the Torrey knives .. All I’ve seen were good solid quality !!

Great knife, love Torrey's all of them I have ever seen have been well made. There was a cattle knife on ebay that just sold for a best offer but don't know who bought it or for how much. It was a buy it now for 495 and I offered 250 for it but the seller said he had a better offer and it sold right before or after the auction ended.

I saw that knife Mike - jigged bone Torrey cattle knife with pretty full blades - Not me who got it but it was nice - I had it on watch to see where it would go...

I too saw that cattle and offered $200.

Nice knife PD - Missed it somehow when you posted it and cool to see a single clip blade in that regular jack ... I'm thinking a nice Boys Knife given the pattern ... What is the closed length of that jack??

I didnt see you ever reply to this thread, the knife is 3-13/16" not quite 3-7/8". It has integral bolsters flush joints and a glazed finish. I would think pre 1900.

After review of this thread again, I would think Mike L’s beautiful Torrey is an import, maybe Wostenholm.

Great knives I didn’t know much about.

Here's a Torrey Equal-End Jack from a few years back but never took photos - 3 & 1/4" closed - Ebony handles ... Really solid & hefty for a jack of that size - but I find Equal-End jacks usually have that feel in hand....

I like it, for it's looks, as well as for the historical rarity of the piece.

Ike, that is definitely a BEAUTY!

I recently got this Torrey 4 Blade Stockman near 4" closed, has couple tight lines but that adds character if I must say so. Hope you guys enjoy and that more pop up on here to be seen, seen all the ones so far posted here and love each and every one of them.
