Well, I started this thread almost 2 years ago. Yesterday I was cleaning the garage , again, and found a block of Black Locust firewood I had set aside for the scales on the Scout Knife. Pulled the table saw out and ripped down a nice bright yellow set of scales. I plan on trying to checker them. I have a friend that builds custom gun stocks that said he will lend me the tools. But, he's a little concerned that Black Locust might not be the best material to learn how to checker on. Hopefully it won't take 2 more years to finish. I'll get the pics of the scales up after I get a couple cups of coffee in me.

No, I'm not a dedicated collector, I'm just a hoarder. I have almost everything I've ever owned. Recently i started giving stuff away. I gave a kid at a Get Together my Hopalong.
