I posted these in the other stag thread so most likely, most of you have already seen them. If so, then just scroll on down and get back to your regularly scheduled program already in progress.

Great stag Gents. Yep, stag is like a fingerprint, no two alike. One factor I really like about stag as they are all unique with different character.

The 5592 is an interesting knife in my opinion. The swing guard with file work is an EDC...

I never get tired of looking at fine stag...some really nice ones being shown here; please keep 'em coming.

Jerry, your stag Cheetah collection is absolutely stunning, unbelievable.

JerryD, I drool every time I see that Damascus Seahorse Whittler.

Here are a few more I dug out of my archives:

I almost forgot about this Grandaddy Case Founders' Barlow since it hangs on the wall in my office and I look at it every day.

For those of you who know about the unique serialization of this particular release, mine's an "S" At one time I was going to try to collect one knife with each letter prefix: "C", "A", "S", "E", but never quite got around to it. (I've seen a lot with "S" and "E", not quite as many with "C" or "A")

That founders stag Grand Daddy has always befuddled me. I love the one I have, a big 5 inch hunk of beautiful stag. But you can routinely find them on ebay for around $75. I wouldn't sell mine for that. Why do you think that is? Even the bone handle grand daddy's go for more than that

I have wondered that very thing myself...although I've seen them sell for $75 all the way up to $150 (I think I paid around $100 for mine about 6 or 7 years ago). I can only guess that maybe not a lot of Case collectors are interested in big commemorative Barlows? Personally, I got mine because of the stag...I just love stag, and this big Grand Daddy Barlow in the shadow box was a perfect way for me to display a beautiful stag knife (that I wasn't ever going to use anyway) in my office so I could look at it every day. Although it's still a knife, it's really more like a piece of artwork.

I like the idea that each stag handle is as unique as a fingerprint. Here are a couple of mini trappers that fit that description perfectly.

Mahalo, Jerry...as you already know, there's just something magical about stag that transcends most other handle materials (ivory and Paua abalone also)...it has a certain unique "essence" that never ceases to intrigue. Personally, I never tire of looking at and holding it.

I think I've gotta follow the sellers you've been shopping. IIRC the last stag Founders Barlow in display I saw go for well over $200...

Wrong guess. ::disgust:: Wrong timing, too! ::tear::

Much appreciated, Q. Turns out the current owner of the active listing wasn't listening to reason (who uses a knife that comes in a wood display case anyway?). Oh well. I'll have to refine some of my saved searches judging by some of the titles used for closed auctions.
