OK now I am having a hard time with this name and knife.

STEVEN SEAGAL the actor Yes I have seen many of his movies. My first one I saw him in (not member the name) but, he looked strange to me with that pony tail and he also ran funny. The more movies he was in then I started to like him. Smart butt kool kicken others butts with a brain, but still had that funny pony-tail and ran funny.

Now this STEVEN SEAGAL that El Lobo is talking about I never heard of him. His hair makes him looks like its a different guy. To me it's the same guy.

NOW with that all cleared up. Tell me why his name is on my Kershaw Knife??? Did he use it in a move ?

I know of Steven Seagal and his movies of course but he has done much more. Yeah, his first wife does not care much for him, read why.

His Martial arts are REAL. Rather than me writing a list, here is a link for Seagal who is a Buddist and highly regarded by other Buddists. Steven Seagal is the first foreigner ever to own and operate an aikido dojo in Japan.

Not only that, but it doesn't have any swedge.
Isn't that unusual on a big, thick, tactical?
Especially as the Mini Rukus has a swedge running almost the length of the blade, as if to make up for the missing one on the Rukus.
No swedge keeps the blade simple and uncluttered, like a high grind, but without a high grind, no swedge makes a noticeable difference, like on the Rukus.

I still can't locate a Steven Seagal Kershaw, but the Needs Work sounds like it can do the job.

Can serrated edges be sharpened?

lansky(and others) has a triangular stone for serrated blades. i have sharpened my spiderco police with good results. i also use a round, small diameter ceramic rod that works.

Yes, Jantz catalog has these as Hard Arkansas Files in many sizes on page 96 (catalog 44 2006-2007). They also have a few other handy sharpening tools.

While waiting for my Benchmade Mini Griptilian, I thought I'd investigate Spyderco, although I never liked the hole.

Of course I'm fishing again for opinions on Spyderco, but I think I've narrowed it down to their Military, Manix, or Mini Manix.

BTW the top Cold Steel knife looks like a good version of the Spanish Navaja.

Edgewise, Glad you discovered Spydies. I have both the full size Manix and the Military Spyderco's. To tell you the truth they are both great knives, however I rarely carry the Manix because I found it a bit to heavey for pocket carry unless I was wearing Levi's. The Military on the other hand is a perfect weight and thin profile for everyday carry. I have to wear dress slacks for my day job and when I carry my Milie, I don't even notice I have it in my pocket.

Well, being the shy retired...er, retiring type that I am, mine is the smaller, dainty one with my name on it. Hmmmmph!!

I do make up for it with my fixed EDC. Even though I was a target for possible group ridicule around the size of my folding weapon...I will let you see my EDC as it is unsheathed...

Hey Bill, even your cute and dainty Cold Steel isn't PINK like my MINI Griptilian which I just received.
Anyway, ANZO Big Boy just cut off all possible ridicule. As they say: "When wolf appear, let no dog bark."

Mitch, your tip sent me checking weights on those Spydies, ( my luck you have both of them ), and even the Mini Manix (5.5oz) is heavier than the Military (4 oz.) The Manix is 6.1 oz.
Surprising because the Military is larger than both, just as thick (4 mm) and also with G-10. So where is the extra weight on the Manix? The backlock?
I think the Military only has one liner, the locking one.
Could the extra weight make the Manix the stronger knife?

After all the joking on the previous page about Steven Seagal, I happened to snag a Kershaw "Steven Seagal" model knife off of Fleabay for $32.00. I have to say it is a very stout and well made knife. It came out of the box hair popping sharp and the sting ray leather handle insert is very cool!
