Last count was just over 200 total, I'll do a final count tonight, I need to record them anyway, I've not been keeping up on my books of recent purchases lately and have gotten everything mixed up ::doh::

A little over 1,000 folders. Now if you count parts knives, probably double that. Never met a knife I did'nt like.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

There are some things in life you just don't want to know the answer too.
I thought I would head Stanciaman off and post a couple of photos.
This is my storage Venue. My humidity is just about 68% year round average so opening the drawers every now and then keeps the rust away.
The drawers are lined with an absorbant material so that helps also. The deep drawers on bottom are seven or eight deep in old kitchen knives.
There must be at least four five hundred or more. I have finally narrowed down my collecting to military and early Gerbers. On the floor in front of chest is some of the boxes the gerber sets come in. The locking mechanism keeps prying eyes out. I nearly forgot that is some abalone I have not gotten around to cutting up and a bag of pistol handle blanks on the boxes in front. Sitting on the shelf on right side of lower case is a late 1800's J. Russell Green River Works spatula. A stack of unsorted swords
and machetes on the left.

I see that you have a whole an incredible number of knives. I am very impressed.

it comes me a subsidiary question : if it you were to keep one of them, which would be this knife?

Great question. I'd pick a Remington bullet I got from my Dad. He bought it at a hardware store in the 1930s. Way too big to carry every day but way too many memories to let it go.
I am attaching a photo.

Paladin, Nice I have one of those but not one that belonged to my dad. That is a real treasure.

If I could only keep one knife it would be this one.
Made my my grandfather & carried for many years by my dad.
The knife is shown here with a hatchet he also made.
