Jim, I don't blame you a bit for sending that one back! Sqg1, I agree, the snap on a Great Eastern will take your finger half off!
I hope the Case vault knives are a great program and not just a marketing ploy. I still maintain....."
In Their Day" you couldn't beat a Case.

you know i think Case is still #1 in my opinion
seems like the mid 90s was a slump I but believe they have come right on through that.
i havent used alot of the new ones but they are good looking good feeling knives.i bought an 06----54052 stag congress with some good looking stag on it
its has great opening and closing snap the half stops are questionable but over all a real nice knife,,,
and you have to commend case on their warrany from what ive seen of it..
in my opinion a good Case XX is hard to beat....and still a good investment....

My yellow delrin medium stockman is a classic and I love it. Strongly built, sharp and sharpenable. Other cases I have had dealings with have been less impressive, and it certainly seems true that their peers - German makers like Eye, Bulldog and so forth make knives with greater character and they are better assembled (to my taste any way)
Case would have to do much to get their lines up to the standards of say MooreMaker, for example. Queen/S&M knives are much more convincing pieces too.
Best of luck to Case though. Their lines do seem to have improved a little recently.
