Glad to help K7K. Your Grandfather was indeed a wise man!

Thanks for the compliments Bill and Wayne! That knife is like a war torn tank. Still love that knife.

This one is certainly not a junk knife but it is fairly scarce with a minor handle issue. I think I personally have seen one other of this pattern without the advertising. That advertising I have seen on my knife and maybe one or two others. Seems to be a fairly complex versus most advertising knives, at least for CASE. It also seems a bit extravagant for an adverstising knife unless it went to high end customers or company executives.

You all may think I am crazy but I am very meticulous about my knives, even the oldies. The imitation onyx handles are seperating slighty from the liner pile side by the bolster. Very stable with some shrinkage but the seperation bugs me a bit. But the rest of the knives quailty and uniqueness makes up for it. Just hope the handle does not come undone further. Really like this knife.

Ok, forget everything I just said in paragraph 2 besides "Really like this knife". After I wrote all that above in the second paragraph, I never noticed that it has a long straight tail C stamp with no TESTED XX underneath. Witcher says used between 1932' and 1940' on larger knives and switchblades. It also has "PAT. APL'D FOR" on the pile side tang that you don't see often on a CASE knife. Not a stamp collector but I think the only one I have like this one. Blade appears full and unsharpened and not short as the tip is barely below the bolster when fully closed.

Dave, that little William Elliot is my favorite. I'd be happy just to have the frame of that one.

Jerry, I think your idea of junk is way nicer than mine. That push blade is a real cherry.

Yeah, I'm the same, btrwtr. Half of those knives could be missing the blades and scales and I still would've bought them.

This old Case Tested large Birdseye is my contribution to this thread. It has been well used but it is tight. As you can see the old yellow plastic scales are cracked and loose as is the case on most of these old Birdseye patterns. Have often thought about getting the scales replaced but the knife belonged to my uncle and I've kept it exactly as it was when he gave it to me over 30 years ago, cracked scales and all. Still might replace them some day and carry it though. Great size, great old pattern.

Ken it looks like that old 92 is still kicking. The sheepsfoot and spey blade still have a nice profile. Tough call on a re-handle for a family knife like that.

My contribution to the thread. A gallant old W R Case & Sons Hawkbill. 1905-15. Still a tight old knife that shows decades of heavy use. If this one could talk it could tell a lot of stories.

Great old knife Tom. IMHO, worth having for the bone scales alone if nothing else. ::tu::

Krusius Brothers -KB EXTRA stamped sunfish. This is the only KB stamped one I have come across. Most German made sunfish look like they all came out of the same factory.

Here's a couple from my pile. I could probably uncover a few more.

An old Hatch from Bridgeport, Ct.

An old Ed. Wusthof from Solingen, Germany. This camper is built like a tank. It's too bad about the skins; they must have started to go south a long time ago.

Nice old "if onlys" guys.

Dimitri I'd love to find one of those Labelles. Looks like someone used it just once for a torture test.
