Speaking of cutting burrs, my Dad asked me did I think that these were carried more by bird hunters for that purpose. It does seem more logical for the time frame 1920's to 1940's maybe. I see more people hunting than actually having their dogs groomed.

That makes perfect sense. I live in between town and country (closer to the country ) and the hunters have a lot more dogs than I see at the dog groomer at our vet's office. I haven't hunted in years, but if you have a Jack Russel Terrier, you'll end up using one of these if you have one.

Ok gotta a question just got this off Ebay today. As most yall know all too well it could be something someone put together but I'm not sure. I have never seen a Ka-Bar Dog Groomer but then again I've never seen a Case 6245 DG either and they made 3 different variations in Tested and 1 in XX. Either way I like the knife and It will good with my other Groomers just looking for opinions or knowledge yall may have on this.

Just like mine Dimitri and a fine example. I didn't know they existed either Outkast, but I like it. I've never seen one of the Case Dog Groomers either, but sure would like to.

Nice looking knives a friend and collector of 30+ years told me he thought he remembered seeing a Rough Black Case DG

Only thing wrong for me is Parkers guide says Tested variations were Dog Groomer-Spear, Dog Groomer-Clip, and Double Dog Groomer. It's not specific on the XX version but I would think it to be Double Dog Groomer and the one pictured isn't. However again as we all know only people who really know what left the factories were the ones assembling them.

This is the only dog grooming knife I have. Got it from coffeecup a couple years ago. Which reminds me - haven't heard anything from Jim lately. Hope he's okay.

Just for what it's worth, I saw an old time dog groomer interviewed on the local news this week and danged if he wasn't using a folding dog grooming knife for the job. I guess I always assumed grooming would be done electronically these days.

Rex, that's the nicest bone I think I've ever seen on a Spratt's.

I had a Sam Elliott style mustache for twenty-seven years. I would not use a dog groomer blade on any mustache, as they generally have a cutting edge between the teeth. Maybe that's only true of a "stripper" blade and some other blades are just combs. I don't know.
