In celebration on 35 years at 00:01 tonight I'll be carrying this 1980 ZIPPO SLIM to light my cigars!

I've got a few layin round here somewhere. Have to find them.

I quit smoking my pipes about 15 years ago, but I still have some Zippos.

This is the Scrimshaw table lighter, not really common I don't think.
This is my USMC Zippo. I carried it some, but not a lot. It is not the pipe lighter version.

I've sold nearly all my "vintage" ZIPPO lighters but kept these as my favs. Most are from WWII, China and China-Burma-India Theater. The exceptions are in the bottom row, first and second from the right. First on right is an example of the prototype Austrian lighter that was used to design the ZIPPO in 1932. The second is a modern sterling silver ZIPPO engraved by Joseph the Engraver using old school techinque (hammer and chisel). With the exception of the 1st lighter from left on the top row and the 1st lighter in the bottom row right side, all the lighter cases are sterling silver. If there are any you would like to see better, let me know and I will post better picture.
Last pic is a comparison of the early, in this case, WWII insert vs a modern insert.

I have a scrimshaw Zippo here somewhere, it isn't a table top, but I like the looks of them! Yours is a beauty.

Hey Dale, your table lighter is called a "Handilite" by ZIPPO. Here is another table lighter that I have and ZIPPO calls this one a "Barcroft". This one is probably 1953.

I don`t know a real gem stone from a fake but I bet if you took it to a reputable jeweler he could tell you in a few seconds what they are

Probably so, Dimitri, but they're just tiny chips and would give no added value to the lighter whether they're rubies or glass. These are some of my favorite "vintage" lighters because they are CBI Theater. I had two uncles and a step father that served in that theater of war.

Hey Wazu, only two of the lighters in the group are actually ZIPPO's, top row, first from the left and bottom row middle. The others are after-market cases made for the WWII ZIPPO insert and made in country, India and China. Some have the older WWII inserts and some have the later inserts. I still have a trunk full of modern, up to about 2001, collectable ZIPPO's. ZIPPO manufactured some beautiful lighters and they're still back up with the "It works, or we fix it for free". When I was collecting, I sent dozen's back to them for repair and all it cost was the postage to Bradford.

With your lighters, the one with the patent number centered is a 1959 and the one with the patent number on the left is a 1957 Nice lighters

The 1957 lighter was my father's. It found it's way into my pocket after he passed away. The 1959 lighter was a Xmas gift given out by the company that gave me my first job in 1967. I was a clean up Kid and found it in an old desk drawer. The owner gave it to me then and it has been with me ever since.

I'd like to get my hands on one of their table top lighters. It would fit perfectly in my cave. The good thing about living in Florida is I can have a man cave out on one of the enclosed patios and use it all year. It makes for a comfortable set up

I dug this out and reglued the shield back on it. I think it was originally glued with that same stuff Boker uses for shields.

My wife gave this to me a few years ago. The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels (hence my screen name). I'm right proud of this one.
