I had the pleasure of meeting Bob on Friday. We had a great conversation. A real gentleman.
His wife and my wife also seem to find some things in common. We are looking forward to seeing them at the Mason Dixon show in Hagerstown, MD at the end of the month.

I also had nice conversations with two custom makers. First one was Rick Simpson and his son of Palmetto Blades. I really liked Rick's work and his son Caleb is also making some knives. Both were super friendly and very engaging, but I was very impressed how Rick's son greeted and talked to the people who stopped at their table. I was serious thinking of buying one of his knives, which would have been my first custom blade, but my wife had spent some of my stash on a cane with a silver handle.

The other custom maker was Tom Heard of Turning Point Knives. He is a retired police officer from Northern Virginia. My wife and myself had actually met Tom 2 years ago at our first SVKS show when my wife bought one of his custom ink pens. His knife making skills have definitely evolved since then. His designs might be considered somewhat, and I'm paraphrasing his our words, "quirky"! He has real artistic skills which he incorporates into his knives.

And lastly, a shout out to Findlay Lotts of Spottswood Farm Store Cutlery Company and his friend Randy Sutton. Both are great guys to talk to. I believe Findlay is fairly new to the knife selling business. He had a nice selection of Bokers and CSC.

I bought two knifes, a Case Seahorse Whittler and a nice German Eye #85 penknife. I'll post them later.

Picked up another Barnett Tool Co. pliers/hoof pick/knife, a Marble' screwdriver set from a guy who came all the way from Michigan, an Italian switch for a bud who's getting married and 5 Boker Great American Story knives I didn't have. Now I just need 4 more to complete my set.

I didn't get my postcard reminder but this show is just around the corner. It kicks off knife hunting season for me.

I got my card yesterday so maybe yours is in the mail. I hope to be there on Friday morning Good Lord willing.

Me too, only about a 2 hour drive for me though.

Wasn't really looking for anything but ended up with 3 finds; Schrade USA linoleum knife, a pearl Keen Kutter pen and a Hammer Brand shell switchblade. Yes, my collecting is all over the place.

Why is it so hard to capture that "fire" in pearl?

I'm going to try to get there, only a 2 1/2 hour drive. Looks like a good show.

Three days to one of the biggest knife shows on the east coast! Dealers from 19 states this year!

The 200 tables are sold out again this year, hope to see a lot of members come out and support this show.

Great show with dealers from 15 different states.

I should be there with two tables full of antique folding and fixed blade knives, a great selection of WW2 knives, and some fine straight razors for sale, trade, or friendly discussion. I'll be in the front room against the wall before the back room. Stop by and say hello!! I will be wearing a tan baseball cap with "SQUID ROW" on it.

The show is not over Easter this year!

I'll be there (god willin' and the river don't rise) for the three days with my usual two tables crammed full of old hunting knives, daggers, pocket knives, razors, and WW2 US military knives. I'll likely start a new thread this coming weekend so more folks see it.
