Thanks Roger.I talked to 3 or 4 people who said they had or saw F&W knives and they were all this same moose pattern.

Dunno. I've seen that pattern described as a Texas Jack, too. In fact, there's a thread over at BF discussing "Texas Jacks" and that's the patter pictured in the OP.

Greedy, you're right about the Carlin-Hulfish. Being about 4 1/4 inches closed and 3/4 of an inch wide, it's certainly got some heft to it. Here's a picture of it next to a quarter for size comparison.

dcgm4 that Carlin-Hulfish is a very fine, I really like the saber grind.
