You've had that new knee for a couple of days now. You ready to run a PFT?

Hi Guys,
I really do appreciate all of your prayers! Between the members of AAPK, my church and my family & friends I really did feel surrounded by your prayers in the surgery! I know this made a huge difference in the way the surgery went!

The doctor said the knee was worse than it looked on the x-rays. He said there was no cartilage left; it was completely blown on bone. But he did say the surgery went very well.

I came home last night, and the first night is generally the worst. I actually got a fairly good night of sleep. Most of the interruptions of my sleep were from my wife waking me up to take my pills.
The knee is painful, but that is to be expected. I am up now, sitting at my computer and reading a few email.
I am about ready to go back to bed now and get my knee elevated again.

If my first day it is any indicator I think I will heal much faster than I had anticipated!

Keep the prayers coming, because they certainly are working!!! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

God's blessings to you all,
Dale

PS- My brain is sort of fuzzy from all the meds……. I hope what I am writing makes sense!

I suppose I should update this so there is some semblance of closure to it.
I am now 3 weeks out of surgery and able to get around pretty well. I am limiting my time standing and sometimes I even have to limit my time setting upright because of swelling in the knee at the surgical site. As long as I can keep the swelling under control there is not a lot of pain.

The new knee is not painful. I can walk without it hurting & grinding, like it did before surgery. The area around the knee is still bruised and sore, and it really starts to throb when is swells.

It looks like a few more days of lying around to keep the swelling under control.

Thanks again for all your prayers, they made the surgery go quite smoothly and have certainly speeded up the surgery.

God bless you all.
