Found another blue bone, pocket worn Case with the block shield today (my favorite features on a modern Case Knife to search for), this one is a Muskrat. OH

Sweet Muskrat, OH. ::tu:: I love that blue, almost looks like pocket worn popcorn jigging

Thanks RR, of all the modern Case designs I like their pocketworn jigging the best, especially in the blue color. Here is a nice fat, old stag handled Trapper that I got in yesterdays mail - I like the Razor Edge etching on the blade.

Sweet knife! :shock: ::ds:: ::tu::

In Sargent's books he has a nice 2 page write-up on the Hawbaker Special. Need to find a way to scan it for posting, interesting history.

I got this 10 dot 11031SH last week. Just sharpened it up tonight. Might do some more cleanup on the blades but it was bought to be a user, not a beauty queen. :mrgreen:

Cool knife Nate. ::tu:: What was that board used for?

I agree with Viking, sweet knife, love the long pull. ::tu::

If I had to guess I'd say the board is a wire gauge. ::nod::

Thanks guys. The board is an old drill bit gauge/holder that I picked up at the Brimfield, MA antique fair in May. At least I assumed it was for drill bits. Perhaps the sizes would correspond with wire as well?

Also got some good knives there too. :D

The Case is a 1977 6235 1/2. The others are a Camillus rope/lifeboat knife, a Kent jack and an Ulster Tl-29.

Thanks, that makes sense now that I see the whole board. ::tu:: The holes don't correspond to wire sizes. Nice Case and Kent jacks Nate. I've never been to Brimfield, I've heard it's immense. I hope to make it there some day.

It is a massive area. I was walking around for 6-7 hours and I covered maybe 1/3rd of it. The percentage of tents/tables I actually took the time to peruse was less than that. Not all of the fields and vendors are open on all of the days, but it's gigantic any way you slice it. This was the first time I had ever gone and was touched with some real beginner's luck.

I thought wire gauges went up as they got bigger, but so do drill bits. ::shrug::

Hey OH, what's the pattern number on that jackknife? Reminds me of a coffin jack. ::tu::

Sweet knives all around. ::nod::

Those Museum knives are cool! I think I've seen sets of them too, maybe serial numbered? Can't go wrong with e-toes either in my book. ::tu::

Thanks,I was so excited I forgot to ask the question I had about the knife. The serial # 349L, I was just wondering what the L in the 349L stood for.

I forgot to rename the picture - Case labels it a "Barlow" (a "Big" Barlow I would guess) 62005 1/2 SS in "Old Black Bone".
