Thanks for all the posts and PM's that I have been getting on the knives we are having made. They are days away, I was told by GEC, and I hope to be shipping them out next week to all those that have ordered them. The wiping cloths were delivered yesterday and the Certificates should be ready tomorrow.
Derek and I have been speaking about the next offering and thought that it would be good to ask the AAPK members what they thought the next pattern should be and what handles should be on them. We will be offering them with some type of wooden handles but would like to do something else also, like a different jigged bone or a stag.
I have attached a couple of pictures of knives that we are considering doing. The Congress is a great pattern and the Eureka is one that I really love the last knife is a Jumbo jack about 4" closed with a thick main blade.
Again thanks for the support and please tell us your thoughts, Mike & Derek

I like your ideas of a heavy jack with a super thick main blade and a Eureka jack. To my knowledge neither are currently in production by any major manufacturer.

Love the Eureka ( if GEC,will put the ""Rat-Tail"" bolster on em' ???? )____they re-designed the Blade Forums knife ""from Rat-Tail to the standard GEC ringed/lined bolster""

___which would have, really set that BF design above others !!!!!___that Eureka Jack, has it's own shape, jigging,& rat-tail bolster (that makes it special !!!!! at least it does to me !!!

____thanks Mike and good luck, with all your future projects***** Monk

Mike,
You might also consider having GEC make up a special & unique shield for your pieces. Something they've not used before & perhaps something that could be exclusive to your new brand.

That is a great idea!! Derek asked me the same question the other day. We are working on something that would be ours alone. I appreciate the thoughts that you are putting into this.

While we're wishing .., err I mean, making suggestions ...
I really like the Jumbo Jack idea as well .. please retain the long match-striker pull, and possibly consider:
- Add a "threaded" end cap (and thread the long bolster to match)
IMO, that would be a stand-out!
I'm sure all these things add to production costs, but I for one would jump on a couple of those!

Thanks for all the thoughts about our next knife. As soon as we decide which to make I will post it. We are working on the shield idea mostly because we could use it on more of the runs that we do.
I was hoping that I would have had the knives by now but I believe they will be shipped today from GEC. As soon as they arrive I will be getting them out in the mail.
Derek and I want to thank all of those that have ordered a knife and hope that you will let us know what you think when you recieve them.
All the best and have a great Thanksgiving Mike

I've just seen the completed knives on the GEC website. The blade etch really completes the package.
Can't wait to see it in hand. I'm glad you were able to put this project together Mike!!

You are welcome Mike, we are all looking forward to these beauties. I for one will be using mine a lot. I just think that jig bone is too pretty to not go in the pocket.

I know what you mean Donald, I might change my mind once I hold it in my hands. Although there are some of my EDCs that I just carry in case I need a knife and others that get a real workout. I think this one will be in that first category.

Well the knives arrived today and I was able to get most of them mailed. I have a few of the larger orders to go out tomorrow but all the knives bought by AAPK collectors are in the mail
I had to ogle the bone on all of them when I put the wiping cloths in the tubes and they look GREAT.
Please let me know what you think when you get them and Perry, maybe it's me but I will not be using mine!!!
Again thanks for all the support with this project and I can't wait to get started on the next, Mike
