Thanks, guys.
As others in this thread have pointed out, the smooth action and 100% lockup on these puppies makes 'em potentially addictive. GEC did a great job.

my pics are anticlimatic after the great photography of corvus & earl but it is a idea of the variety of gec in this issue. i do'nt know if the lock or the dramatic selection of scale material,[maybe both] but the hogan certainly steps up in this variation. i'm sorry more members will probably miss out on the camel bone.---HiPower .....calico bone, coffee acrylic, pheasant feather acrylic, colbalt camel bone, & stag

I got this #65 after seeing some of these great pics. I'm happy to report that this one locks up tight with zero blade play in any direction.

Just curious; has anyone else run across a #65 with a warped frame?
I've owned three (two lockbacks and one slipjoint) with laterally curved handles (e.g., the backspacer and lockbar don't line up when sighting down the handle) that were bad enough to force the cutler to heavily crink the blade so it doesn't hit the liners. As a result, the crinked blade veers badly off axis to the left or right when open. I'm usually something of a GEC cheerleader, but this unacceptable QC issue really burns my biscuits, and it's made me gun shy about purchasing additional #65s, which is unfortunate, as I really like the pattern.

I just checked the 21 of them that I have and found 2 with spear blades that have what I would call borderline
blade crinks. Each of the 2 are crinked to the left when sighting down the backspring. I have a 3rd that has
a whisper of a crink to it and the other 18 are laser straight. Interesting post and good eye Corvus. Mine are
within acceptable limits but can see where some might not be.

Grad to hear that I'm in the minority on the warped #65s. I've had three out of five that were more or less sub-par. Here's the latest (but not the worst) one:
It's a little hard to see in the pic, but notice how, even though the line is centered on the head and tang, the lockbar release area is off-center due to the curved frame. It looked worse in person - sighting down the frame revealed an obvious curve, and the backspacer and lockbar were definitely out of alignment with one another.
