All About Pocket Knives

I got one of these in a lot. I figured I'd add it to this old thread since it came up in my searches about this brand.

Two blade Easy Open pattern, spear and pen blades, approximately 3 1/4" long. Reddish bone handles with elongated oval shield Quality is on the low end of the spectrum.

I have a York Cutlery Hawbaker muskrat, the quality is really good ::

I’ll contribute this unusual one to the thread. Stamped York Cutlery Co Germany. It’s an long slim whittler, two back-springs, no wedge. Sort of a melon tester or sausage knife with whittler blade configuration. Master rides on two back-springs, secondaries on one spring. I’m guessing from 1960’s or thereabouts, quality similar to Ulster or Utica.

That kissing crane "72" whittler, I have up for sale, has the same kind of setup. Main clip blade rides on 2 springs, while each secondary uses 1 of the springs. Makes for a very slick opening system .

I know this thread is old but thought i’d post a pic of a York springer made in Germany. I owned it a while back and have it coming back. Pretty well made knife. Not the greatest fit and finish but solid

The importer was Gutman and he was in Germany...and no he was not a Waffen SS vet...your comments lack history understanding and are less then professional ....study, read, understand and then make better posts...
