Trying to collect phone numbers for some reason?

I have good luck with Shepherd Hills. I have bought several knives from them. I bought a couple of those gray bone confederate knives from them a few years back. My only regret is I didn't buy one of ever model of those knives.

I have no issues with Shepherd Hills, but I'm probably not calling just to see what the Customer Appreciation knife is this month. I pretty much always checked to see what it was when it could be done on their website, and then I could decide to buy or pass. Calling to say, "no thank you?" Not happening.

It's like when BladeHQ posts, "Call for price." I add it to my cart to see what the price is, then I decide to buy or not. I'm not one for gabbing on the phone.

A good majority of online sales (knives, ammo, gun accessories, auto parts etc.) sell items they don’t actually have and may not ever have, they drop ship from their distributor, or play I’ll sell 25 items and then place a order. I sell 90% new knives, and everyone is in my possession, already purchased, I could easy put stock pictures of a item in my store and sale X amount of them. It’s just me maybe but that takes away actually picture of item for sale, and as a buyer it takes away from the impulse purchase of thinking I’ll have this in hand in 3 days. I’m not saying it’s wrong to do business this way…but it allows sellers to operate on others money.

My wife ordered a leather sofa and paid 1/3 of it, and it’s to be 10 weeks before it comes in. The new way of doing business I guess.

I don’t recall ever buying anything from SHC on line, but I rarely buy knives from any online sellers. I have however been to their stores in Branson and the main store in Lebanon, MO (multiple times). Huge store with a huge knife selection. Couldn’t be any nicer or more helpful folks. They always let me browse, coon-finger and eyeball knives to my heart’s content and were very patient and friendly.

Of course, while I was doing that my wife was off spending money in the rest of the store.

BTW I don’t subscribe to their emails, but I don’t find anything on their web site about a daily special. Must be for email subscribers only.

Agreed. I'm not going to beg them to tell me what they have for sale.

I’m not at all averse to talking to someone in person or on the phone. In fact I’ve been known to spend 10-15 minutes talking to a wrong number.

But that’s a benefit of living in (near) a small town. Not only do you probably know the person who answered your misdialed call, you likely recognize their voice!

It's a Texas thing. Watt Matthew of the Lambshead ranch once answered the phone and talked about 15 minutes hung up. Someone in the ranch house asked who it was that just called. Watt answered "It was a wrong number, they'll be over for supper tonight.

Off topic, I spent about 1/2 hr talking to a guy who was locked up. He called a wrong number and got me. Nice guy as it were. A recording in the background kept reminding me of where he was calling from, lol.
