Don't know that the pattern is all that rare, but you don't find many Anton Wingen, Jr. Othello Swing Guards out there.

Thanks Wazu. Anton Wingen, Jr. folders are kind of scarce by themselves.

To try and pick one knife as my rarest pattern would be difficult so I've included several and you can pick one(or all).

Willie, I know you have posted that Case and Son's hobo several times before, but man, I can never get enough of that knife. To me, it's my favorite vintage knife ever posted on this site!!

wullie, that is a great knife, especially since it was your granddads, and i don't want to put it down in any respect...i wish i had my granddads socks just to have something of theirs. but being raised in an orphanage, things disappear thru time.
but dammit, someone come over to my house and take a picture of this kabar hobo. looks just like wullies as far as the knife and fork go. but then it is also a take apart hobo done with stag cigar band handles. this is where it belongs.....the fork is also a bottle opener. but it has no sentimental value at all.

Ironhoarder. That POS came with a "lot" of about 200 knives that I bought to get 15 nice ones. I ended up with a lot of POS's and trotline weights but I made my money back and then some. I don't why but every time I come across that damn box or see that pic, I think of Mr Blister.

Here's three patterns that were hard for me to find.

On the figural dog knife, is the chain around the neck Silver? Some of these style knives had real Gold for the chain. I have seen old catalog ads stating this.

You guys might have to help me out some to pick out which pattern is rare... Here are a few:

This first knife is a "Farmer's Jack". It's stamped Vollmer. It's just a different configuation from anything else I have.

Next is actually a common hawkbill from Maher & Grosh, but I haven't seen too many survivors with two blades?

Lastly, is a Northfield Ivory lobster that is listed in the 1889 catalog. I haven't seen another example of it yet.

Kathy, I think they are all pretty hard to come by today.

What is "Rare", just like "Beauty" , is in the eye of the beholder.

You may have never seen a particular pattern, I may have a dozen of them.

If it has not already been posted somewhere on one of these internet sites it probably is rare

I do trust & value your opinion. I would say on that note, that I haven't seen another Northfield lobster like the one I have, even though it is pictured in the Northfield catalog. In my collection, it is probably my favorite. The only other one that rivals that "favorite" status is a two blade congress from Beaver Falls Cutlery Company. The congress isn't a rare pattern but that stamp is as scarce as hen's teeth.
