Fortunately I have it too...real bad....

My wife thinks I need professional help...and she really means it. I bought my first major collection without telling her, but I must confess it ate at me until I did...."damned if I did and damned if I didn't," if you know what I mean.

When I did tell her, it hit the fan. The aftershocks lasted several months, but I can now tell you...it has passed.

The collection I bought had over 100 vintage toenails in it, so you do some rough calculations to see the magnitude of the "problem" I had around the house once I told her....

While I'm not proud of being not being truthful with my better half, I knew if I passed on buying that collection, I would never in my lifetime be able to build a collection with the quality and number of toenails this guy had at the time....at least that was the justification I told myself.[/url]

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Slow and painful or quick and painful, like pulling off a band-aid . I'd say you made the right choice. s-k

The only true cure is to send me every knife you own and I will send you a blessed handkerchief which will dry your tears and you will be forever healed........ I gotta go, I think the mailman is on his way!!!!!

I love my wonderful wife of 23 years, she was my high school sweetheart and we dated 4 before marrying each other...But there is one thing I can tell you in my experience of living with the mother of my offspring...She might have forgave me for something but there is no chance of her ever forgetting..

My latest philosophy in my knife collecting is not to hide or lie about any knives I may buy...I just don't bring up what I do happen to add to the knife drawer....

quickly change the subject, tell her how nice she looks, take her out, buy her diamonds.

you see, i'm not a knifeaholic. just use for recreational purposes.

Only $1000 last month?
It seems you have mild symptoms, probably not a full blown case yet.

If you would like to be cured do the following;
1. Carefully pack all your knives in the original boxes with paper work (very important).
2. Pack all your boxes of knives in shipping boxes with lots of padding to protect them.
3. Pack all your knife magazines & books in shipping boxes also.
4. Pack all remaining knife & cutlery related items in shipping boxes. You might as well throw in any guns you have laying around the house also.
5. Seal the shipping boxes.
6. Ship all boxes to me.
In approximately 10 years, give or take a 2 or 3 decades, you should should experience a substantial decrease of your symptoms.

You are fortunate we caught this in the very early stages, while it can still be cured.

Oh yes, one last think, send me a check for $2000. Medicine isn't cheap you know and I have a full blown case and must support my addiction.
On second thought, you better make that check for $5000.

Went to the Goodmans show today, 9:00AM sharp. Looked around ,found some nice Bulldog knives. Bought a coon stripe congress from really the only knife booth there other than the Case guy who had a few Winchesters and Schatts, UH OH. Then left to take my daughter to play tennis for an hour, you followin this, then after that I took my daughter home and went back to the show. Ok I went back. spent another hour talking knives withthe guys and bought a Schatt winterbottom 1 of 100 from 2004, a beauty. Then my wife called and said "IF YOU COULD FIND TIME TO GO TO THE GROCERY THAT WOULD BE GREAT". So I went to the grocery and took them home and, you guessed it, YEP, went back to the show and bought
another Bulldog coon stripe. This time a smaller congress knife.Wow, I was so happy. But the good news is, the fairgrounds are really close to the house.

For a Terminal Old Man I can say I went 7 days with out buying a knife.
I am shakening all over. This hurts I saw some Schrade on the bay being sold for less than what I payed of mine. I still did not buy them.
O that HURTS. Am I the only one that fells if a knife that I paid $50.00 for and one more comes up on the bay and top bid is $35.00. How can YOU NOT bid $45.00???? BUT I DID IT for 7 days now. Am I cured???
