I have never seen nor heard of a Nagle Tool kit, but then again I had never heard of or seen a 5 blade Nagle till a friend had one for sale!!! It's in Phil's new book on NJ Cutlery. The asking price was 5,000 which I thought then and now was nuts, but the darn thing sold for that!!!

I really would love to see a picture of a Nagle Tool kit. In all the ads and correspondance that I have read they never mention a tool kit.

I have a picnic set with a knife, fork and spoon, but wasn't sure it belonged since this is a "took kit" thread.

This was the knife I was referring to;my mistake.I saw it many years ago and remembered it(mistakenly)as a tool kit rather than a changeable blade knife.

Well now, I have had this folding Spoon for awhile, and was wondering who made it.

It looks exactly like yours. How long is your spoon closed? This one is 4 3/8".

I believe I have the Fork as well.

My spoon is 4 3/8s as well. They do look exactly alike.

Yes, they usually are older.

Can I see a closeup of the tang stamp on your knife?

Here's the tang stamp:


They're in various Henckels catalogs that I have.

I`m gonna guess and say these forks were used no later than 1940.

Check your catalogs and maybe you can pin it down.

If the set pictured does not have three tines that would date it pretty much.

Trouble is you need a lot of their catalogs to be accurate

Nice pick, Keith. It looks pretty clean.

I used to collect tool kits also, I think this is the only one I have kept or at least can find at this time.
The whole set is here/there and the blade is attached.

The knife itself looks to be the only tool used, all are stamped "A.W. WADSWORTH & SON GERMANY".

It is the same Willys that made the vehicles, only at this time these two were making aircraft engines or maybe just aircraft....... something about Curtiss IIRC.
The company site is a toxic wasteland now.

I like it when you find an old knife and it has a date on it, like this set.

The German knife companies made most of the sets you see today.

Utica, Ulery, Napanoch and N.Y. Knife company made quite a few too.

The last NYKC set I sold was Near Mint, had a few specks & spider webs was the only problems.
Big Willy is the owner now.

I am a old jeep kind of guy and that is the reason I held on to this one

Brantford Cutlery combo, not a very common brand to find.
