another day.......another knife. this is a 1982 pattern 6292, my favorite today...so far.

Is not the condition of yours but it feels good. The clip is a little tired the pen snaps both ways. The pen is close to full length the clip about 95%.
No cracks in handles. An opening cutout on pen side. Nice old knife, if it were marked I think it might be a 6255. a 31/2" cigar. Just found it in a box of old tools at an estate sale about six hours ago. My favorite til I grow weary of looking at it. Nearly forgot IMO its a circle c tested, hard to read.

wb, i wish i could go with you on your huntin route. nice find. yeah, mine is in great condition but it does'nt have the character yours does. i'm droolin now. those old knives really do it for me.

Thank you pa for the nice compliment I really love this knife for being so unique from everything else in my collection. I have never seen another yellow bone like this and on the one or two similar knives that have been for sale I have not been able to match the funds or the bidder to get another..

I don't have much history as in interesting history on this particular knife but I do save all descriptions of the knives that I purchase and here is how it was described..

VERY RARE Wilh. Weltersbach Weidmannsheil Lever Lock. Very Limited Production and extremely hard to find. This Model features Nickel Silver Top and Bottom Bolsters with a Solingen Stainless etched blade. Bottom Bolster is stamped "JAGD KONIG", which translated means "King of the Hunt". Brass liners. Manufactured in the mid-70's these are super hard to find. Factory Yellow Smooth Bone Handles. Old World Craftsmanship at it's best. Lever lock operation. Includes original Green Production Tag from Solingen. Perfect pocket companion. Not many of the Yellow Bone models were made..Superb action with rock solid lockup

I am in love with El Lobo's 1 of 1 and would gladly trade for Mitch Rapp's Bark River and his Ivory Scagel Holy Hot Tamale... I love the pins on that Bark River, classy...

Well, Johnnie took my answer but the Case 6292 pattern is my favorite all around EDC. I have seven or eight of them, but the picutured one is the one that gets carried most. It's a 1989 and it's broken in perfectly. Something about these 6292 "Premium Jacks", the way they're ground or something, but no other knife takes a hair splitting edge so easily in my experience.

Incidentally Johnnie, I have the exact same 1982 that you have pictured. Sometime during the 80's they lost the handle indentation for easy access to the pen blade and started using thinner bolsters. I prefer the later model for pocket carry because it is more slender, but I like the older ones for the way they feel in the hand.

The pictured is my favorite knife TODAY, since it just arrived in today's mail. It's a Custom Shoppe Buck 110 with BG-42 blade. My understanding is that they're down to their last few BG-42 blades, and they're already starting to substitute S30V. So, this being one of the last BG-42 Buck 110's to come out of the Custom Shoppe, I'm pretty enamored with it.

My wife may go out shopping, so she says I can stay here and be "LARGE and in charge." Well then, I might just carry this big bad boy around the house.....

Here's today's favorite, and a frequent EDC -- an Indian Head 4" stockman with stag handles. This knife has the best walk and talk of any slipjoint I own.

Well, a current favorite is the 4 1/4 inch 5 blade stockman. This is a one of a kind Bulldog knife that has Blue Spiderweb Mastodon Ivory handles. This knife was one of the first 25th anniversary prototypes and came in this special edition brown box. This knife was made in Solingen germany by Master Cutler August Scheidtmann.

You know, that little peanut is so small, I'm gonna rub out the chalk lines and hedge a bit...and carry a Mammoth fixed blade...no, no, not "BIG" Mammoth...but another Mammoth handled knife. It was once a neck knife, but now, it is a 5" pocket carry...by Chuck Gedraitis.

I'm hanging cement board in a new shower today, and I need a sturdy, no nonsense work knife so I'm carrying my yellow handle Moore Maker 3 7/8 punchblade stockman. This knife rides more comfortably in the pocket than any other 4" stockman that I've ever come across. I believe it's combination of light weight, round bolsters, and the lack of a sheepfoot blade riding high up over the main blade.

Today's favorite is a First Generation Bulldog BKC 75. This 3 7/8 Congress has beautiful pearl handles and features 2 etched blades. I have 2 of them and will likely list one on eBay, you don't find these very often.
Only 292 were released in 1982. Since this is Sunday I will just sit this on the desk and I think I will sit in front of a football game. It appears that this knife was never carried, so I won't start. This knife is just about as mint as you can get.

I've been wanting to get a Moore Maker for some time now. Just because I don't have one now. I like the looks of them, they look to be nice and sturdy.
I read a couple articles now that state that mammoth ivory and mastodon ivory are not as rare as you would think. They estimated that Siberia, Mongolia, and Northern China have about 100 metric tons of tusk still on or in the ground. What they did not say however is what the quality would be.
